Any herbal equivalent to advil?

Our favorite buck appears to have hurt his wrist. Not badly, but enough that he is in a cranky mood, and is bitey when we handle him. Does anyone have home remedies to ease a bun's minor aches and pains?

Giving them willow branches to eat and chew on is a very good natural medicine

I agree with RabbitsOfTheCreek. Willow bark -- the inner white bark -- has a substance a lot like aspirin. It is a safe tree for rabbits both as food and as medicine. No dosage -- the rabbit will eat what he needs.

Indeed willow bark, especially the cambium, has salicylic acid which is a precursor to aspirin. Until Aspirin was formulated, herbs bearing the acid were the specific for pain relief. Chamomile is another herb that bears salicylic acid.

Mine love willow twigs and chew off every scrap of bark - any willow species will do.

I read something recently that an extract made from weeping willow leaves is effective against coccidiosis. I don't know if that extends to all willows, maybe that was the only species they had available.
