Seven babies in her nest box!!!

3 broken blacks, 4 blacks...

All carrying CHOCOLATE!!!

Her daughter is bred to the same chocolate buck, and I have a litter of 5 from him from a 3rd unrelated doe.

My chocolate lines are officially on the way!!

Whoo-hoo!!!

Congrats, Bad habit! Can't wait to see the little guys. And especially the little guy's little guys in about 6months or so. :p

Little guys they definitely are - I've never seen such tiny tiny babies. Of course, she did have 7 of them tucked away in there, so one can assume that they didn't have all the room they'd have liked.

All are growing though!!

Haven't decided on a name theme for my chocolate line yet, but I know it won't be a chocolate theme, as that's been done to death!!

This is Bad Habit's Virginia, from Alaska's last litter. 10wks old. I really like this doe, keeping her back with hopes of having a mini-Alaska to show.

I am liking how this litter is turning out already. Alaska's brokens in the past have all had light ES type markings, however in this batch I am seeing larger blanket type markings on the blankets. I hope that means that Reese(the sire) carries for blanket type markings as well, as I do prefer them.

oh my gosh is that doe cute (and the popple are adorable.) Everyone is forbidden from showing that picture to my youngest son, he who loves all things soft and fluffy. It does look a bit like Virginia is wearing a Phyllis Diller wig, though.

Alaska!! And Virginia- adorable.

Please post pics of the wee ones as they grow. Especially the one in the bottom right of the second litter picture.

I am probably keeping all the broken kits from this litter. Broken chocolate is my current goal, and these babies have a chocolate dad.

Ginny is, I don't know, maybe not mine? I told a friend she could have her, but haven't heard from that friend in 3 weeks. I am getting rather attached to the little snot. Especially now that her brother has gotten ill, and will only eat fresh grass.

Ni-i-ice! I hope you get to keep Ginny!

Cute new popples, too, BH!

We were having a discussion on another thread (two actually) about difference in texture between white and colored fur/wool.

Anywho- in my experience with Satins specifically, the breeders prefer the blanket patterns because there IS a noticeable texture difference, and the lightly marked brokens can feel "rough" in that they "catch" your hand a bit.

Sad thing for me, because I prefer the "butterfly" or spotted pattern. And my favorites have very little spotting. *Sigh!*

I don't think I've noticed a texture difference on the lions... but I've never thought to feel for a texture difference.

The babies sure are cute, and well fed!!!
