Ok, so I'm majorly disappointed. When researching Rex color genetics, all the webpages were for Mini Rex. I learned a lot about all the colors... but forgot that Mini Rex and Rex have different recognized colors!!! So, after PMing lonelyfarmgirl (thanks again!), I found that tri color is unrecognized in Rexes. So, I need to choose a different color to breed. I know that selfs are easiest, but I really like some of the other colors, and I've done a lot of research (but I'm still learning)

What can you breed Sable to?
Can you breed lynx and chocolate? What other agouti-to-self breedings would be good?
What can you breed red to?

Thanks!

Umm... I have seen tri color Rex exhibited. One of them took BOB. As far as I know, they are shown in the broken category... *goes off to find SOP*

BROKEN GROUP- Color is to include any recognized breed variety in conjunction with white, or white in conjunction with one of the following combinations of two colors: Dense bBlack and Golden Orange; Lavender Blue and Golden Fawn; dark Chocolate Brown and Golden Orange; Dove Gray and Golden Fawn.

So you have a whole plethora of tri colors to choose from! :p

*And that concludes my contribution to this genetics thread. :)

Thank you so so much!!! I guess lonelyfarmgirl just hadn't seen any tri color Rexes shown before...
Yay!!!! I get to breed tri colors!!!!! once I find a breeder....

Solid tris are not recognized in Rex but the broken are.

No such thing as a solid tri. A tri is a broken harlequin. So it would be a harlequin, not a solid tri, if it was not broken. Harlequin the colour is only acceptable in the breed Harlequin, I believe.

Jessie- yes, I'd love any help. :)

And yes, I know harlequins aren't recognized, but they're really pretty in my opinion, and they are very helpful for breeding tri's.
