The last few days were a scramble, to get the old nesting tunnels off, a new Buck cage made and new nesting boxes for the pregnant Does. We were cutting it close, but today the nesting box went in with Cinnamon in The Buck's hut, (we had moved him out) to a new cage and within hours she was kindling......I didn't think she was going to take to the nesting box, she kept trying to build her nest out on the wire? I kept scooping up her nest and placing it in the box, and placing her in there too..... Finally she gave up and just had them in the box After she was all done she came out for a snak and this time I carefully ck'd the entire box well. 6 live kits were found! WOW, much easier in the box.....nice and neat like a little package  I researched how to keep ants from climbing poles and the concensus was....VASELINE, so I coated the leg bottoms with Vaseline and cleaned up all around. She was bloody when she first came out....can I assume that is normal and from the afterbirth,,,,it was on her paws....Anything else I should keep an eye for????? I am so happy to have a second chance so quickly after Oreo's ordeal......Pictures to come soon....
