    I'm making a rabbit pie...

I found this tutorial helpful and easy. (I don't do the "rack of rabbit" part though - I just run a knife down both sides and get a long, thin strip of extra yummy meat)

    Grass-fed Rabbits for Human Health?

How many rabbits varies - I have 3 breeders, and raise in a colony. The most I've had at once so far is 19. A ready tray of fodder weighs between 5-6 pounds. Rabbits should get 6% of their body weight in fodder. I process my growouts at 5lbs, so they get up to 0.3 lbs and my breeders get 0.5. I...

    Grass-fed Rabbits for Human Health?

I soak the seeds for 12 hours in water with a teaspoon of white vinegar. Then I put the seeds in these 10x20 seed trays with drainage holes - 3 cups per tray. Water twice a day. By day 7 I have 5-6 pounds of fodder per tray. Put solid trays underneath to collect drained water. Takes less than...

    Timothy Hay

Just make sure it's horse quality hay and you'll be fine. If you're still worried, ask the farmer what they use.

    Timothy Hay

Look for a local hay farmer - I found mine through a Facebook marketplace ad. Instead of paying $26 at tractor supply for hay that was often half dust, I pay $12/bale for high quality timothy/ orchard grass mix or $13/bale if I want it delivered.

    Grass-fed Rabbits for Human Health?

I switched mine from pellets and hay to hay and barley sprouts. Much cheaper, I get a 50# bag of barley seed from a local mill for $8. It will be a few more weeks before the ones that have never eaten a pellet are ready for processing, but I can't wait to taste the difference!

    Head tilt?

Thank y'all for your input. Yes, I check often for mites. Ears are all clear. Maybe this one did break its neck somehow and the other died from something unrelated - or maybe something scared them bad enough: heart attack for one and other jumped/fell/ran into something and broke neck?

    Head tilt?

Thank you for your reply. That was my first thought, but then I saw the other one dead and thought it might be related...

    Head tilt?

This morning all my rabbits seemed normal and healthy, when I came home from work 1 of the 11 week olds was dead and another was laying on its side motionless until one of the other rabbits got excited by my approach and stepped on it. Then it started flopping like a fish, its head remained...

How often do you feed and water your rabbits?

I'm raising mine colony style, with constant access to pellets and hay. I'd like to switch to feeding pellets 2x day so there is less waste. (Currently the growouts sit in the feed bowls, peeing and pooping in the food, which produces a lot of waste) I'm not sure how to make sure each rabbit...
