I have a litter of NZ / CAL crosses. The buck was a white NZ the doe a CAL. i was thinking of keeping a doe from the litter and breeding it to a CAL buck. will this work? What if I kept a buck from that litter and crossed back to a NZ? Basically, can I use the crosses as breeding stock?

Thanks. Is there a common practice used to 'cut' the feed with something nutrition al but cheaper than pellets?

Anyone mix sweet feed and commercial pellets to cut down feed costs? Pellets are $16.50/50# and sweet feed is $10/50#. The protein level in sf is 12 and the pellets are 16 ave of 14 Also would let them have alfalfa /hay free feeding with mineral lick Should this work?
