Warming up a baby in dryer and RATS. ugh. Graphic talk.

I live near Dayna and this is the peak of rat season here. I see plenty at my place but have not had kits killed (but I don't have small babies at the moment). I have seen a rat in a cage a couple times but they were content with stealing food. Once I saw a rat in with in with a litter of...

    Seriously? ONE BABY?!?!

The thing is, my 2 Champagne bucks usually have good sized litters, though they tend to be larger when the doe is not a Champagne. I have a doe who just had her first litter, the mom is Honey the dad is Dayna's floppy ear buck, I bred her to the same buck that was bred to Honey for the litter...

Using a Rabbit Wringer, Hopper Popper, etc

It took me and my friend several months to get our processing stations, then we decided to get wringers too and those came quick. Apparently the process is more automated now. Going to try it out for the first time in a little bit.

    Abandoned Urban Chickens

I live in Hawaii near Dayna, people here have one acre lots mostly, and you can have anything you want, some people here have horses and cows. Along with the giant cockfighting breeding operations. I have some chickens, 2 guinea fowl, 3 Muscovy ducks, a dog, 3 cats, and a lot of rabbits, I've...

    Quail! Chickens! Ducks! Pigs!

I am considering getting some quail, but I have never eaten quail, what does it taste like? I love rabbit, I don't like chicken or turkey, and I love duck and goose, and red meat, what is quail meat most like?

Can they feed them too much?

Wow, sounds like a good problem to have, those will be some fat babies! She's nursing all the time like a primate not like a typical rabbit.

    Hazel only had 2 kits

At least you got two, one of my does just had one! And other does bred to the same buck had lots.

The babies are 17 days old.

So another male Harley. I have one from the last litter.

Bettys babies are 10 days old now.

That male and female were such good buddies, but I finally had to separate them when I went over and the male was humping the female, while the male in the next cage was humping his hay ball! I didn't see any falling off or anything and they are both pretty small, hopefully she didn't get pregnant.

    Fabulous sale!

Awesome, lucky for that little bunny. I am selling a young Champagne buck today, so three out of the litter of four will be sold, the last one will be a meal pretty soon unless someone buys him too. And if my Champagnes will produce some females they are all sold to a couple different people.

Bettys babies are 10 days old now.

So this is the next litter from the mom of my two bunnies I got from you, the Harly and the black and white female. I can hardly wait to see what they will produce when they are older. I need to take some pictures of my latest babies, I have a Champagne buck crossed with a half New Zealand doe...

GRAPHIC PHOTOS: Annie asked me to post there here for help

Yeah I was just reading that it is better if you have been exposed to toxoplasmosis and then get pregnant, then being exposed while pregnant. And if you have not been exposed at all, you have to worry about it more while pregnant. Awww so cute, those are some lucky babies!

    Humane euthanasia/putting down?

I had one kit out of a litter of ten that wasn't getting fed and I couldn't get it to nurse, it was suffering so I cut the head off with my knife and fed it to my dog. Seemed fast but painful for a second, but not possible to mess up on such a little animal.

GRAPHIC PHOTOS: Annie asked me to post there here for help

Yeah the toxoplasmosis theory makes sense, I have three cats that live outside and sometimes hunt rodents, and sometimes feral cats hang out too. And I gather plants from my rabbits from the ground. I'm not going to stop doing that, but I will try to be more aware, harvest stuff that is...
