The best hay feeder costs $1.36

I like it. Simple yet effective Here is what we have been using and really liking. They are expensive but will hold up for a very long time. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BRV5F589/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Water bottles in winter

We just switched from bottles to bowls for the winter. They don't seem to freeze up as fast. If they freeze solid I bring a bucket of warm water out to the barn, dunk each bowl in the warm water for a second and the ice pops out, then refill. So far its been working well.

    Willow Branches

I've decided to start up a crop of corkscrew willow to grow as a fodder crop for the rabbits. There was a tornado that went through the area last month and a lady was giving away some willow branches. We cut them all up into about 30 6" cuttings and have them soaking in water. After a week they...

What's in your rabbit first aid kit?

Nitrile Gloves, Nail Trimmers, Ear Drops (coconut oil, olive oil, Neem oil, tea tree oil mixture for ear mites), Scale to check their weight monthly. Brush to brush out any debris from their hair. So far we havnt had much issues other than ear mites once when our cat infected the crew with mites.

I'd suggest going at least 6 weeks before separating. We usually do it at 7-8 weeks

    Dispatch issues...

I prefer the choke chain method myself. The first couple were not great for anyone involved but I've got the hang of it now and it is over in seconds. They just think they are getting picked up for a pet and before they even realize what is happening its over....

    Funny encounter this morning

We were processing some rabbits this morning and I had a bucket of bloody water that I was rinsing carcasses in that needed to be dumped. Went out in the back yard and launched the bucket of bloody water off the deck. I looked over and there were two guys working on my neighbours hot tub with...

    Solar powered rabbit shed

You need to figure out how much power you are going to need first. Find the fans and lights you intend to use so you can get the power specs. Then add it all up and build your system to suit. You will need a solar panel, solar charge controller, battery etc. Check this video out from Bobby @...

    Artificial Light

We have 4' led shop lights in the barn that are on from 5:50am-8:30pm on a timer to simulate longer days. Also so the lights are on for morning barn chores and that my kids do not leave the barn lights on all night lol. The timer is controlled by a smart switch that I can control from my phone/...

    Winter Wheat

Unfortunately not. I was not able to locate any seed in the area and I've got into other projects now lol. We are forecasted to get snow in the next couple days so I'm likely too late now
