    Sunn Hemp

You can cut it every 30 days. https://www.feedipedia.org/node/313 Forage Sunn hemp intended for forage can be harvested 4 times, starting 6-8 weeks after sowing and then every 4 weeks (Orwa et al., 2009). Sunn hemp should be cut for hay in the early flowering stage, 1.5-2.5 months after...

6 week old tries to bite me.

I ended up choosing Tamuks too. perfect for the home meat producer and they are almost always pleasant....which is an intended part of their breeding.

When is it time? Older Rabbits

Maybe this will help someone. I have been using these automatic cage bowls for a couple weeks now and like them. Since the buns have learned to use them, there is almost always a little water left in the bottom of the bowl when they use them, so it is easy to see if they are getting water...

    Grass

I buy whole bales for $7 of Timothy or Alfalfa, completely dry and very tightly packed. So working with grass is not practical in terms of comparison for me. I realize that it may be for you though... That being said, I would check the nutritional content of your grass type just to be aware...

Keeping rabbits cool in extreme heat

You can provide them with a shallow pan of water. They might lay in it or walk in it, or just dip their paws in it if they need to. Some rabbits like water and will go for a swim if given the chance.

    We lost our whole litter

FWIW, I breed 4 litters of Tamuks at a time and have them in an old garage in the back yard. Out of sight from most predators, although the garage is by far not air tight...but what I have done, and this is because we have plenty of howling coyotes in the area, is to install a stereo. This...

    Nest Box Eye treatment

Today, it looks about the same. When I look even closer, it appears the upper eyelid might be deformed, or has been cut and healed. It has a "v" in it that will permanently irritate the eye. I am not sure if it is genetic or perhaps litter box damage from another kits scratch, or what...but...

    Nest Box Eye treatment

One of 26 kits has this issue. About a week ago, I used warm water and cotton to open the eye, but it has not been a lasting improvement. In fact, the eye has gotten worse. I bought Terramycin, an anti-biotic ointment for eyes to try clearing it up. I will keep you posted.

Info on Moringa (drumstick tree) regarding rabbits from www.feedipedia.org

I agree. It should make a great (high density planting) annual and be a really nutritious addition to the other fodders I am growing. I am sure it won't survive in Michigan either.

Info on Moringa (drumstick tree) regarding rabbits from www.feedipedia.org

Note: moringa seeds are poisonous to rabbits. Moringa leaf meal Since the late 2000s, many trials have assessed the nutritive value of moringa leaf meal, for growing rabbits, as a potential replacement for soybean meal (Nuhu, 2010; Ewuola et al., 2012a; Odetola et al., 2012; Owen et al...

    2 does smashes litters

Regular poisons are a concern, but the amount of poison that it takes to kill a mouse will probably not have any effect on a large animal that is 1000 times bigger. Still, safety is a good idea.

Please help me with my baby bunnies (GRAPHIC)

Salt water? Really? How about something slightly less painful like hydrogen peroxide?

    2 does smashes litters

One effective mouse poison that is non-poisonous is 50% baking soda mixed with any thing the rodents eat such as jiffy cornbread mix. Rodents cannot burp and therefore suffocate internally. -jiffy cornbread mix mixed with 50% plaster-of-paris works too...

ISA Brown lays empty micro egg. Very odd.

One of our hens layed this mini egg and when I finally got around to cracking it open, it was empty...except it had an inside shell that was exactly half of the egg. The egg was about 1.1/8 inches wide and the inner shell (exactly half size) fit inside perfectly until it had dried, and I guess...

Rabbit culled for sneezing, photos of organs for opinions please.

I have had a very similar experience with that same breed. Kits would sneeze excessively, but that was the only symptom. Some seemed to have re-occurring ear mite problems. My only guess is that they MAY have been suffering from excessive inbreeding, thus weakening their over all genetic...

So, exactly what does a cull buyer do with all the culls?

I usually see them on FaceBook groups, especially the meat rabbit or breeding type groups. I believe they often visit the bigger show events as a service to breeders. I have never dealt with one, but will probably in the future.
