    Why is my rabbits dying

Except that there was no evidence that it worked on Covid, if there was, then it would have been an actual treatment and not just a bunch of nuts storming the feed stores for horse wormer.

    Not new, but returning!

Looking at your thermometer, I would certainly take that... I've been dealing with high 80's with 70-90% humidity. A few degrees warmer in exchange for not feeling like i'm swimming in my bedroom would be just fine with me.

    Why is my rabbits dying

Did you read what I was replying to? Scooter specifically said it works on Covid which is what I was replying to.

    Why is my rabbits dying

Except that it doesn't work for covid... https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/expert-answers/coronavirus-drugs/faq-20485627 "Claims that ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine can treat COVID-19 are false. These medicines are still useful for treating other illness...

    Why is my rabbits dying

This is false. Ivermectin is for parasites, not viruses or other diseases. The Nobel Prize you mentioned was for curing roundworm infestations which are a parasite, not a disease.

    Is Catnip Safe For Rabbits?

It's a member of the mint family, so I would cautiously treat it like mint which I believe is safe but not for pregnant or nursing does (please check for yourself, I don't trust myself on this one).

    Fur & Size Genes?

Obviously you wouldn't breed them if the doe is the dwarf. And for her crushing the dwarf kits, does seem to crush their own kits that are a normal size for them if they stand on them, I wouldn't expect anything different out of the giant doe. If you're really worried about crushed kits...

    Fur & Size Genes?

If you do this one I want to see the results! That sounds hilarious.

Talk to me about Mega Colon...

Is there no megacolon in solid rabbits? I honestly don't know. I was assuming it's a modifier that tends to hitch a ride on the En gene but can be bred out by breeding exclusively charlies and culling anything and any lines that have the issues. Then you get perfectly healthy charlies...

Talk to me about Mega Colon...

Ok, so, he's broken, which means that the kits will be 50/50 broken (like dad) and charlie (like mom) and as discussed in this thread, the gene or gene modifier that causes megacolon is linked to the En gene (I had it wrong earlier, En is broken and en is solid, I'm going to go edit for clarity)...

Talk to me about Mega Colon...

Knowing the genetics but not having experience with this issue, my thought is to just grow her out, see if she starts having issues, so far she seems happy and healthy (otherwise) from what you are saying. Now, for the genetics part... What color is your buck? If she's En/En and he's broken...

If they do well, can you please provide the link?

    Idiot-Proof Rabbit Nest Box Plans?

I have seen where some people put screws in the bottoms of the nest boxes that when you set them in, they lock the box in place to the wire below so they don't scoot. That might help with keeping baby legs from getting caught too.

    Filthy %^&*^#$(* Scrub Jays

I would personally put my entire cages inside a building that is bird proof. If they can't get TO the wire they can't reach through it to kill kits.

    A foray into...goats?

I'm a little biased against goats (mostly because my fences aren't built to hold water) so I would go for a dairy sheep rather than a fiber goat personally, but if you enjoy the little pests then all the happiness to you and to them and I'll enjoy watching the adventures from the other side of...

Excessive Rabbit Care (Caring too much?)

My concern about running AC or a lot of other cooling things is what happens if the rabbits never see a warm day and then suddenly the power goes out on a hot day? They won't be ready for it and you'll probably lose a lot of them. I mean, if they start showing heat stress then it's time to step...

    **Updated Hand Feeding Formula**

That's just the scientific name for the rabbits that we keep in North America. They came from Europe and are still wild there. Here they are almost entirely domesticated (a few feral populations here and there), in Australia they are an issue because there are no native rabbits there.

What other critters do you have?

I actually don't have rabbits yet (getting ready to start building cages and getting ready to source some this spring), but I have 5 cats, 4 horses, and my boyfriend has a dog I'm watching a decent portion of the time.

    Rabbit genetic testing interest?

I've been hearing "science nerds" talking about how they are starting to do DNA testing on snake sheds to identify color patterns on ball pythons (they have like 300 color morphs and you can stack pretty much as many as you want on 1 snake so it gets hard to ID by eye) and what they are doing is...
