I need to get my rabbit out of the house

If it is Snuffles "Pasteurella", then she needs to go to someone who does not have rabbits and is not planning to have or be around rabbits. Unless treated really quickly, it looks like it's one of those things that will crop back up any time she gets stressed and it is very contagious. It...

What size welded mesh for Netherland Dwarfs?

The smaller the number of gauge, the larger the wire. From what I have seen, the larger the wire the better to avoid sore feet, so I would go with the 14 gauge if it's available.

    Not new, but returning!

I would do it by daily ration. if 1 dog would eat 1 scoop or 1 rabbit then that works out, if the dog would get 4 scoops or 1 rabbit then that doesn't really work out too well. You are still saving money I'm sure, with as little as you are "in the red" right now and the fact that you haven't...

    Not new, but returning!

Not the OP, and not raising yet, but I have put some serious thought into how I will log everything once I do start raising. I plan to "buy" meat from the rabbitry based on the price of chicken in the store since chicken is pretty much what I will be using the rabbit for. So, butchered and...

    Not new, but returning!

I'm super amused by that 2.99 doe, "if I can't go forward I will go STRAIGHT UP like a slinkie!"

    Raw feeding dogs rabbit offal

Don't you love it when you have those "well, that's a good idea, how dumb is it that I never thought about that before?" moments? Though I'm sure the 1st person to invent any major idea (the wheel etc) had much the same thought process.

    Found Abandoned Baby Wild Mouse

I'm sorry he died, but that's usually what happens, abandoned wild babies are really hard to care for.

    Time to sell

I think that may be more of a colony raising thing than individual cages thing. Like cats, kittens that are seperated from their mother and siblings "early" (typical time to sell kittens) tend to have weird behavior like playing too rough and not interacting with other cats normally. When raised...

    Any Tips?

Rabbit droppings aren't "hot" so they won't "burn" the roots. You could toss a handful in the top of each pot if you wanted, but that may not be the aesthetic you are looking for in a house plant... so it you want to go a more subtle path, put a handful in a bottle (or other container) of water...

    Check your Feed

Yes, which is another reason I'm confused that the OP's immediate reaction was to change the feed ENTIRELY to a lot of green stuff that presumably she hadn't been eating before. If a little corn being subbed out for something else in pellets that are otherwise the same nutritionally is upsetting...

    Check your Feed

Typically when feeds (at least reputable brands, and they didn't say what brand they were feeding) change their formulation it is to get the same nutritional results out of less cost. The nutritional value shouldn't have changed. And if it's sugar, then shouldn't the issue have been overweight...

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

I was originally asking a simple question since you stated as a fact that rabbits natural diet includes aspen and then you provided a link to Snowshoe Hare which are a different species and live on a different continent than our domestic breeds (since domestic rabbits are from Europe). You're...

    Check your Feed

Out of curiosity, why would changing the formulation of the pallets to include some corn be an issue and cause a rabbit to get dangerously thin?

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

A few things. If none of your animals get store bought feed, where do you get your whole oats and alfalfa pellets? As for rabbits being cat and dog food, sure for dogs, however they are too low in taurine to be a good diet for cats. Remember the things that cats can't synthesize that dogs can...

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

Whole oats, alfalfa pellets, and hay is not "horse feed" I'm talking you can't buy horse pellets and feed them as rabbit pellets. You also can't feed rabbit pellets to horses. Different nutrition needed. Cats and dogs also have different nutritional needs, cats being the harder species to keep...

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

One is domesticated and the other is wild, plus, canids (dogs and wolves) have different nutritional requirements than felines (cats). If similar digestive systems means they can 100% eat the same things, then you could just buy horse feed and give it to rabbits which is not true either.

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

Not sure what you're trying to say here since the link you provided states that rabbits and hares are different. And having a similar digestive tract doesn't mean they do or can eat the same foods. A lion and a poodle have similar digestive tracts, but they don't do well eating each other's diets.

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

A hare's digestive tract differs structurally from that of a rabbit I'm not saying they can't eat aspen, just you have now made a claim with no evidence and the evidence you did give is easily proved to be false. Hares are not rabbits, domestic rabbits are not the same as cottontails because...

    Feeding alternative diet to Pellets?

Do you have any evidence that the natural diet of rabbits includes aspen? You shared evidence that Snowshoe Hare eat aspen but they are a different species than the domestic rabbits.
