Where to get a rabbit breed poster in Canada?

Could you down load the picture on a flash drive and the take it to a copier place or print one from home? Both would be copy right infringment but ... Just a thought, Cathy

What rabbit meat prices in the upper Midwest(North Dakota)

I did some research in the fall and the price per pound varied greatly: from $2-65 with a nation wide average being around $17/Lb. That being said I charge $4/Lb. And always sell out. That's enough to cover feed cost. So, it would depend on: - your cost to produce - how much of a profit...

    Ugh, I messed up..

It's a great goal but that takes time. I feed 1/2c pellet twice a day to my bucks and all the hay they want. And  a few treats. Most of the time my does have a litter so free feed pellets and all the hay they want. And  a few treats. This what I feed...

    Ugh, I messed up..

Personally I hate butchering bucks over 10wks. The hide seems harder to pull off. Had a couple that hit 12 wks and while skinning them tore the meat. Making it unsellable in my opinion. I have my does on a 3 wk cycle. Tried the 4 wk one but all that lead to was frustration. No one wanted to...

    Bring 'Em In?

Out here in Missouri, USA the weather swings wildly. Yesterday 75+*F today 35*F But the does are champs and pull all the fur out of the nest and then repack it as the temp drops. It took a couple nipped figures before I caught on to what they were doing. :P

Eye opening age? and crazy kits!

I have a litter about that age and a couple like to chase the doe. I just watched over them till I saw they were able to get back in the box. I have placed a brick in the cage and they've used it. When they saw mom feeding the others they were quick getting back in the nest. :P

    1st ever Swap Meet

Got the chairs, and lunch for the 3 of us. Food, hay, and water are accounted for. I can set up right beside my truck so no cart needed. The truck and the easy up will provide shade. OH a tarp that way I can block off a side for better shade for us. Area is all grass so no clean up. And sales...

    1st ever Swap Meet

The Fillmore Swap Meet is in one month. I'm super excited, but also very nerves. Is there any advice or things I should be considering before, during, and after the meet. Here's what I have so far: -Items to be sold -Rabbits -Read up and printed laws -Tables -Easy up -Business cards and...

    Moving with rabbits...

Depending on the temp at the time of move, more or less air maybe needed. Cooped up in a small cage will lower the chance of possible injury. (From rabbit darting around) But could lead to air flow issues and over heating. It's a tough call. Again best of luck, Cathy

    Moving with rabbits...

For a quick fix, a shock collar or anti-bark collar works wonders. It's a lazy cop out but they are effective. You may not have the time to put into proper anti-bark control at this moment, but in the future a stop bark word is easily taught. Such as "enough", our two have been taught that since...

My hubby just floored me...says he wants a jersey cow.

Well here's hoping my hubby gets bit by the homestead bug. Every time I talk about new animals I get the :x  :x face. Lol

    two things seen today

I had a doe last summer kill a baby black snake. Found it in her feeder. :x No kits to protect, and there was noway that pen size snake was an actual threat to her. I think she was being mean.

Where can I find these rabbit bottle nipples?

Our water is very hard so cleaning is a must. With kits in with the doe the water system I have gets quite the workout. They're easy to clean. I place them in a little CLR for 15 minutes and then rinse very well. I taste them  to make sure all the chemical is off and then re-rinse. DH...

    Ornamental co-ed colony

From what I'm seeing it might be best to get rabbits that have been breed and raised in a social environment. My rabbits have been bred to breed and tolerate human interaction. So I would advice your client to choose carefully. And like others have said have a Plan B. Animals can be...

Where can I find these rabbit bottle nipples?

https://www.kwcages.com/accessories/niv ... eaded.html There not identical but work well. Would suggest buying two for each cage. I have to pull mine every 3wks for cleaning because of build up and leaking. It's just simpler to have extra.

    Ornamental co-ed colony

From my limited experience does get a little cranky and territorial once they become sexually mature. Fighting can happen. With the girls all being from the same litter from start to finish the pecking order is already established. Take the lowest girl on the totem pole out for a month or so and...

    New Nest Box??

Should be. For the most part plastic is easily cleaned. I'd be more concerned about them chewing it. If they do it could cause sharp edges. Other than that, as long as the size it right, they should work nicely.

    New Nest Box??

You should be able to post more pictures. What type of rabbits are you raising? My nest boxes for my 10-11Lb does are: 16''L x 10''W x 8'' T with a front height of 3 1/2''. There is just enough room for them and the kits for a short time, but not enough so the doe thinks she can lay with them...

    Rite Farm Cages

The lumber would need to be pressure treated and painted to last any amount of time with urine and feces around them. What would happen if a rodent were to chew on one of the legs? :x Just me but I'd want to use metal for legs/feet. The racks I have my cages sitting in are made of pressure...
