Breeding a large buck to a small doe

the doe ended up losing half the litters and prolapsing. I figured it was just her so I bred him to another and she never lost anything but it took something out of her. The large kits ate everything and in general were a pain for her to deliver and take care of

I hope you guys out west are coping with the heat.

Ya I've heard about breeding for heat tolerance and I'd like to think I've done that but my newest arrivals are the best rabbits I've ever owned and they are terrible with dealing with the heat smh

Breeding a large buck to a small doe

Don't do it! I did that for a while since all I had was a large buck and I lost a few litters since the doe had a hard time with kindling

    How soon to re breed

just be careful with waiting, it can bring down fertility. I screwed up my best doe like that

Day 34. No kits. Please see video

Thinking of starting to breed and show- where to start?

Research! Join fb breeder groups, join the ARBA, and ask as many questions as you have! Once you have a solid foundation, start the rabbitry. first thing is to get a solid breeding trio, an amazing buck and two good does. Trust me, it's so much easier to get off the ground by making an initial...

    What could this possibly be?

often happens when they pee on each other, the urine pastes down the fur and only shows where the skin didn't fold

    New Rabbit Barn! Advice?

I've outgrown my old rabbit barn and we are building a new one! It's 10'x10', 6' sidewalls and 10' peek. I'll put in a loft for storage. My main question is: I wanted to originally make the wall areas by the cages removable for ventilation (cutting strips where cages are and removing them...

Pregnant doe pulled fur day 18

could be a false pregnancy, just wait and watch. My does pull fur days 26 earliest, latest is after kindling. Most of my does pull a day to a few hours before kindling.

    90 plus degrees

ice bottles, swamp cooler on wheels, fans, tiles, and a misting system. If you dip the bottles in water before giving them to the rabbits, they are more affective. Have an designated "cool zone", like a place in the house, for nest box babies to avoid loosing them from heat.

    Marking behavior?

you can litter box train her. She is probably just hormonal now that she is growing up and training her is a simple solution

    Confused About No Kits

If a doe is stressed, they can reabsorb a litter. Or your buck could be not as fertile, maybe your feed is causing lack of fertility

White pus coming out of eyes w/ nose blood now

it might be nestbox eye, not sure about the bloody nose but I'd go to a vet and get it checked out to make sure it is curable with cream instead of some sort of staff infection

    Baby bunnies balding?

I don't think that is anything basic...like fur mites, maybe call a vet. It could be a parasitical issue

Giving my doe a third chance?

I'd give her a shot. I give my does 3 strikes after the first litter

    Day 35...Still hasn't kindled

Hi I’m new to breeding rabbits and I have a few questions

Along side that, if you haven't already, make sure to give her space. I know she's a pet but pregnant rabbits are grouchy and angry and not meant to be handled a bunch. Mero had a good point, normally you don't breed a rabbit of either gender before 6 months so it might be a bit of a rough ride...
