So, exactly what does a cull buyer do with all the culls?

how do I find a cull buyer? I frequent raw feeding groups, contact local raw food companies, post on kijiji, ask at feed companies, talk to people at rabbit shows etc.

So, exactly what does a cull buyer do with all the culls?

it all depends on the cull buyer. And the people who sell to them often want to know what the purpose is. for instance most show breeders selling to a cull buyer want the rabbits to end up DEAD. They don't want their rabbits sold as pets or ending up as part of the breeding pool. For a whole...

Are you making money or losing money with your rabbits?

Oh, time to update what I do. All rabbit waste goes into my garden now. I ran into some super picky people, and then one guy came in a left a huge mess for me to clean up and hubby said "enough of that". Ruts in the ground and everything. It was a mess. and then customer who wanted me to...

Is this a dwarf gene problem ( peanut)?

don't look like peanuts, looks like a small, unfed kit. Given the resource guarding, my suggestion would be to separate the two smaller does into their own colony setting and let them raise their kits there. Less competition. a 3 x 6 x 2 area is small for four rabbits even if they sometimes...

    Help SOS Cold Kits

once they've gotten cold through and through you need to be mindful it doesn't happen again. Pluck additional fur from mom, make sure they get a good feed, and then bring them back in the house. Shelving them when they aren't actively being fed is an really good idea for kits that have gotten...

Small breeds, dwarf gene? Genetic issues.

raised polish, mini rex, holland lops, and pet quality dwarf. Polish _--- lovely lovely rabbits. Would happily breed them again except i could not sell them. Good mommas, good number of kits, some lines have peanuts. Mini rex --- fantastic rabbits. Mine ranged in size from 3.5 - 6 lbs...

    Mini Rex or Netherland Dwarfs?

Mini rex Easy to breed, easy to keep. Good for a SMALL meat rabbit. If getting into mini rex check that they have WELL FURRED FEET. Check the upkeep of the herd. They need regular nail trims and you need to be mindful of their tendency toward sore hocks. Great mommas generally speaking. can...

all rabbits are made of meat. Seeing the condition of the parents.... do you want to risk selling the kits as pets? Up to you though. Some pet people are amazing.

    Anybody feed JUST pellets?

I know lots of rabbit breeders who only feed pellets and have thriving herds... AND I did the same for about 10 of the 20+ years I've breeding rabbits. Rabbits thrive on the diet that you feed them OR they get culled out. Pellets... MEASURE FEED. I don't free feed anything.

6 week old tries to bite me.

if he's biting a six weeks when you aren't hurting him or anything... NOW imagine him as a 10 lb adult? You want that biting you or your does? Seriously... oversexed youngsters are NOT fun as adults. I would NOT keep that as a breeder EVER. But in case you are still tempted...
