Kits are 5 weeks old. I got them out and weighed them. They're about 2lbs. My doe is a blue silver fox and my buck is a Champagne de'argent. Their fur is way more silver fox than I expected. The fur even stands up. I'm going to try breeding my doe next week. She has chilled out, and I haven't...

    Not laying eggs?

Do they have access to grit and oyster shell? I like to make both available to my girls.

    @#$&@$!! RATS!!! Rat proofing project.

A rat triggered my motion sensor lights and I saw it snooping around my cages 😭. Are you getting poop buildup in your cages with the new wire?

This is my New Zealand red doe. I haven't bred her yet, she's about 6 months old. She might be my favorite, she is always the happiest to see me. Her dewlap has come in very strong and I love it.

    Flemish Giant x New Zealand

I bought Flemish/NZ grow outs on craigslist for meat. Their growth rate was terrible and the meat to bone just wasn't worth the cost of feed. I'll never mess with Flemish again for meat. I can't see any pro's to Flemish from my experience.

The kits are 3 weeks old today. Everyone is doing great and growing like a weed. Mamma has calmed down a ton and I haven't had any issues with her. When I reach in and pull a kit out, she's like please take them. Maybe she just needed to get the hang of it.

    Cage height question

Make sure you can reach all the way into the cage. You need to be able to reach all the way into the back of the cage to clean it and to grab buns. One of my does got poop stuck in the back corner, that rapidly built up and then her kits wanted to sit in it. It was a stretch to reach back there...

    Kit Isn't Eating?

Are they still with their mom? Have you tried any hay?

I've had bad luck with grilling legs. It has come out tougher than I'd like. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. When I fry it, it always comes out tender. Instapot makes everything tender.

I recently made the fried rabbit from this recipe: https://kentrollins.com/rabbit/ It was fantastic. I made mashed potatoes and country gravy to go with it, perfection. I boil the rabbit when feeding to my dog, boil until cooked then peel from bones. Some people like to feed raw to their dogs...

I think one of them wanted to eat your jacket. Are they all from the same litter?

You can get electric metal shears for $50 on amazon that would make quick work of it. Use the extra for doe cages so babies don't squeeze through wire gaps? Good luck!

I'm big a fan of grow bags. I've had great success with peppers in grow bags. I won't buy soil in bags anymore, I'm only only buying bulk from garden supply centers. The markup on bags is crazy. What are you going to grow in the bags?

I started with ten, on the 8th. Today I'm down to four. The weather has been good, not sure what the issue is. It's a little depressing pulling those baby bodies out of the nest box. I don't think this doe is getting another chance.

Hey, thanks for the response. Yes she is healthy, fed and watered. My other two does are just getting old enough to breed so I guess it's time to move on from my problem doe. I'm out in the forest and the mosquitos are mean. I've got some barrels, I might try the goldfish, thanks!

Hello, I have been keeping rabbits about 6 months, I have three does and a buck. Things have been going mostly well, managing the rain in the Pacific Northwest has been interesting. I'm running into issues with my oldest doe. She's roughly a year and a half, she had one litter with the breeder...
