It's a new day, new kits, new colours coming.

The 2 broken from Oreo. They did not appreciate the cooler air out of the nest. Very squiggly. The smoked pearls are getting darker. I will take updated shots tomorrow.

    New Guy!

Thank you! I will give that a try! I grow sunflowers every year. They eat every bit of it. Last year I left one section in the ground so I could go out and break some off to feed the rabbits as needed. I live in town,in Montana. I currently house my rabbits in xl dog crates that I flipped and...

Rabbit manure is not hot like chicken manure so it can go directly into your gardens.

@Rabbit Warren Man , Thank you for the "diatomaceous earth on the sprouts as a preventative strategy for internal parasites, the spouts are moist the diatomaceous earth sticks to it. I also use it in the bedding areas and tunnels. I put apple cider vinegar in the drinking water to discourage...

It's a new day, new kits, new colours coming.

Haha.. I get a lot of colours that are not recognized ,but they sure are pretty. This original line was bred strictly for the meat pen. They sweep the shows. Even a judge commented on judging the groups. I do love the satins. Especially the deeper colours. I will say that Charlie threw...

Thank you. They don't really have Fawn in Nz. Although, they do look fawn to me as well. I will have to checkout their bellies. I feel that the NZ recognized colours rew, black, blue, red and broken throws such a broad range under each colour umbrella. I like the tort Satin. So beautiful!

It's a new day, new kits, new colours coming.

Thank you @Alaska Satin They do look a bit like the bottom kit... more shimmery than the white looking kits. I took pictures of the whole litter but they came out foggy. Also there was one that looked different like a very light broken, but I think it turned into a smoked pearl. Mum's better...

    New Guy!

I pay $20 a bag for my rabbit pellets..but it's buy 10 get 1 free. My straw runs $5. My hay $5-$13.50. Every litter costs me approximately a bag if food. So I sell at least one to cover that cost. I actually started out with xl dog crates that I flipped. Then rewired the once top now bottom...

    New Guy!

Fair enough. There are quite a few breeds of meat rabbits out there. Questions: How much do you want to spend? Does the colour of the fur matter? Will you be selling any of the future kits to 4H?Pets?Show people? Meat to bone ratio is also important. How many people/dogs will you be feeding...

Hi from Montana! What breed(s) do you run? I haven't done any showing. I'm having fun with raising my NZ and playing with colours. I also have a trio of rex, and a couple of satins.

I might try that in the future. Velvet was very aggressive on the day they were born, and again on the second check (I pulled her out.) Today she was fine and ok with me checking out her babies; picking them up. Back to her usual sweet self. All of my does are first time mums. I give them...
