    Carrier sizes?

Length wise i think that should be fine. How tall are they? just like with dogs the carrier should be just big enough so that the rabbit can stand tern around and lay down (i prefer loaf style laying, not stretched out) if it's to big it can be dangerous as the rabbit could be thrashed around on...

    Hello from Washington State!

Welcome from the mid west side of Washington, it great to have a local here. If you want to know more about Rex I would suggest this website/person Raising Rabbits. Complete rabbit raising info and breeder support I got my Rex rabbits from her when I first started (i don't breed Rex anymore)...

    Cage size

the minimum rule of thumb is one square foot for every two pound of body wight. so a rabbit that weighs 8 pound would get a minimum of 4 square feet. i personaly would shoot for bigger, as small cages can cause stress, aggression, and other issues. (more information on that in this study...

    Inbreeding help

from what i understand the reason people say you cant breed related (or at least closely related rabbits) is because their genetic traits will be amplified more. so say you have a rabbit that has really good coloring and breed it to its mom that also has good coloring than you will get amazing...

    Q & A

at that age it probably hormones kicking in, try and give him his own space while still work with him. if he get arnery than just back off for a minute and try a again. I've herd that giving rabbits treat when they do something you want them to can work (like if he stays posed for a long time) i...

    Q & A

as long as there are no life effecting problems i think it would be ok to "practice" with that doe, just a litter or two of meat rabbits. that way you aren't possibly messing up good genetics of better rabbits. after one to two littler though i think it would be better not to breed her mostly...

    Q & A

why would i lie about something like that? I'd love to show you next time i have kits, if i can figure out a good way to. i do recheck at 8 weeks when weening just to make sure, but I've only been mistaken twice that i can remember. I suppose i should have explained a little better in my...

    "Ticking" of coat in kit?

looks like silver martin coloring, i don't know what that's called in other breeds. in all honesty I'm paying more attention to that crack in your nail and think about how much it hurt 😖 lol

    Q & A

Its no problem, the more questions asked the more knowledge gained 😁 Hanging cages offer a lot of advantages and help to provide the three staples to health which are sanitation, ventilation, and observation. Hanging cages offer a well-ventilated space away from feces and other potentially...

    Q & A

Honestly we were the only ones in my area that showed Rex, at least in 4-H, it was a pretty uncommon breed at the time we had them. Opal seems to be a pretty unwanted color from what I've seen, even though its a pretty common one, people arn't really like " I focus on the opal variety".

    Q & A

Most say when she stops producing or when her little sizes start getting smaller. However, this is what I do. I only breed a doe twice in one year, three times maybe, and I usually never breed a doe that is over 4 years old. They can be bred more and longer, this is what I feel is ethical.

    Wild baby bunny

We had that happen to one of ares a long time ago de-gloved (as we called it) from the elbow down we had to leave for camp the day after it happened so we couldn't do anything, but he was perfectly fine when we got back, healed beautifully, I mean he didnt grow fur on that leg and only had one...

    Q & A

i honestly completely forgot i made this post, but a late reply is better than non at all. you should be checking on the kits at least twice a day (once at morning once at night) the kits should have full bellies at one of these time if they do not than check again in a few hours and monitor...

    New Dream Rabbit

quick story: my grandfather raised and showed rex rabbits throughout the 80s into the early and mid-90s. He focused most on the tri colors and is one of the few reasons that color pattern still exists. (His name was Paul Warden he showed in Washington mostly. Most people at shows that hear his...
