I put up a couple wind blocks just now in prep for tonite going to 32. Gathered the raspberry leaves, covered the mums, dug up the herbs I want to keep over winter and picked the last of the beans. And so it begins.

my babies go into the nursery hutch right next to mom and dad. they stay together until it's freezer camp time at 11 weeks.

I take my babies out when I see they are eating pellets, hay and look healthy. Also when I notice my doe is sick of them and constantly not letting them feed. That seems to consistently be 5 weeks.

That sounds good, easier for sure. I want them to be able to dig holes so will not cover the whole floor.

Thinking of starting a turnout/colony area. If using hardware cloth for fencing how deep do you bury your fence? I have lots of oak branches from trees just cut down and thinking of using those for a hidie spot. Maybe chewing on oak would be bad. It's a start for me into the colony world...

so sorry for your troubles here. disappointing but not the end of the world. most likely you will lose all the babies and then you can treat the doe. I would clean cages with a spray bottle of bleach/water. Spray around on the ground where the urine and poo fall through. I've been dealing...
