    The solution to wasted hay?

My rabbits have baby stacking cups to play with. I wait til they're on a lightening deal on Amazon and buy 10 sets. They throw them around, scoot them all over and some even stack them inside eachother. I haven'y yet had any problem with them chewing them but they have blocks of wood for that...

Thank you for this! I am doing a big butchering session this weekend and this is absolutely going to happen.

Butchering Question--Resting the Meat from Rigor Mortis

We also have tons of mosquitos. I'm not far fron the gulf. Did you go ahead and eat them then?

    Grey lungs with red spots

I use a pellet gun as well. All the rest looked great and then this. I kind of freaked out when I saw it. Could I still get aspiration with the pellet gun?

Butchering Question--Resting the Meat from Rigor Mortis

I butchered them one at a time. It's been really hot here so I was wondering if that may have anything to do with it. I can't tell if it was acting normal, with the heat they were all just laying around. I was concerned eating the meat or raw feeding the dogs if it was something contagious.

Butchering Question--Resting the Meat from Rigor Mortis

I posted this in another thread as well but thought I'd ask here since you are all more experienced than I am. I butchered today the 4 rabbits in one of the grow out cages. They have been together since birth. All looked perfect on the inside until I came to the last smallest one and found...

    Grey lungs with red spots

Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I just butchered and found this set of lungs on the last rabbit. It was also the smallest of the bunch. We eat the rabbits and grind some for raw food for the dogs but I'm a little concerned about this. Everyone else in the same cage looked perfect...

Butchering Question--Resting the Meat from Rigor Mortis

This thread is extremely important to me. I need to process today for the second time. I use a pellet gun and the last time we had a terrible experience and I ended up crying the rest of the day and generally upset for several days afterwards. I would be really interested in knowing exactly...

    Any ideas?

This makes perfect sense! The Squirter hypothesis would explain exactly where they were located and why they were never cleaned up. Thank you so much!

    Any ideas?

I had a rabbit kindle yesterday and I found them in the morning. She hadn't been looking comfortable for days but the timing was right on. This is her second litter. She had 5 fat healthy kits in the nest bowl covered with her fur but she also had 2 dead kits at the other end of the nest box on...

    Interesting litter

Thank you so much! I'm still so new to this. I just took a comb out and stole some of his hairs and you are right. He's a gold-tipped steel.

    Interesting litter

He looks exactly like my chinchilla. I have chinchillas born that are black at birth with a white looking inside ear and look like this when grown. The black inside ear kits end up primarily black with gold tips, also chinchilla.

My rabbits LOVE all kind of fodder EXCEPT sprouts. 🤣

    Hay question

OMG this is absolutely priceless! I had never even thought to bend the extra wire over. Between this and the suggestion I read the other day to use small pieces of flashing to cover the door edges will save me a ton of scars. I found gardening arm protectors on Amazon and have been wearing them...

    Check Me Out!

Mine seem to love Comfrey, Basil, Kale, Mustard Greens, Pea Plants, Cilantro, Parsley. And of course their fruit tree wood clippings. Once in a blue moon they get some dragon fruit skin or a few mulberries and they're in heaven. I raise TAMUK Composites.

    Check Me Out!

I unfortunately had the same experience with sprouts. They turned their little twitchy noses up. I am now growing peas for them. They can eat the pods and the whole plant.
