Coral kits. 6wk 1day.
Not great weights, but kinda liking shapes. Vapor has Rex in him 4 gens back, and steel.
I think G failed, not seeing his narrow shoulders in the rex furred ones. I don't think he has steel in him. Not seeing any sped up growth yet, but it seems that doesn't get passed down in every litter, as Quincy kits aren't huge yet either.

Quincy kits. 7wk 5days.
Are they small? I'll have to check. Kept 2 previous kits, so don't need to keep any.

Malty kits. 9wk 3days.
Two biggest, one will not pose, the other won't stay put. Smallest, white ears, good side, but wouldn't stay. Ugh, seems like an easy litter to choose from, but no. Lol. Do I want a near 6# at 9wk doe with an unknown shape or do I find a medium of both...

Last two Tealy kits. Don't like the black, so he's out in cull cage. 9wk 5days, almost 10wks and blue is getting close to 5#. Maybe I'll keep him for now.

The last 3 Cruella kits.

black is largest, but a blob shape.
Broken doe is nice and 2nd in size.
Rew is smallest, but good shape. Hmm. They're 10wks, so it's decent sizing, shape is hard to do, too. Ugh. I don't think I should keep an ugly, but big buck. Will redo the pair and hope for a big, nice doe. Probably hold onto doe and rew for now....

Gilt kits. Ugh, tiny. Do I bother? Probably not. Gotta breed to someone else and hope for better.

20 bags moved to driveway!
10 more needed for the buyer.
More rain on the way, was just hardly able to get them all moved.
Culling litters, two out of nests, 2 soon to be out, new litters to be born soon. Poo amounts have dropped, but will pickup soon, hopefully. 2 adults leaving soon, too. So it'll drop a lot for a couple of weeks, which is about 6 bags worth.
Claims he wants meat, so we'll see how that goes. Hoping to keep growing them out to at least 6# or until I have 30 poo bags.

Cruella is due any day now. Sire G.
Penny gets her first nest on Friday. Bred to Digit.
Saturday, Opal × Tux.
Monday, Chick gets her first nest, bred to Guilded.
Thursday 9th, Royal × Vapor, Guilded, Digit. Hoping one of them got the job done!

Gilt litter is below the SF chart, which is lower weights than the meat mutt chart. So, culling all and trying with a different buck.

Quincy kits are on the positive track.

Coral's rex kits are on the positive track, regular look decent.

Malty kits are above and beyond! Gold stars all around!

Cruella kits all doing well.

Tealy buck, slightly under, but loads better than previous Rex kits with other sires.

So, overall, I'm happy.

Comparing Tealy buck to Quincy litter, he's growing faster than they did. 4.55# at 10wks. Sometimes he poses better.

Different dams, same sire. What does the Quincy buck & doe look like compared to him?
Seems the Quincy doe is better than the Quincy buck, and Tealy buck is better than the Quincy buck.
Looks like logic says sell Quincy buck to keep Tealy buck!

Quincy kits. Hmm, yeah, other than weight, they're a bit too all over the place still. 8wks in 2 days. All within minimums at the least. Waiting longer for these, too.

I hate how they can pose better sometimes. What do you believe? Black is 6.75mo and 8.10#.
Both long, low shoulder, but can pose shorter bodied. Can see black had knees up n out, then today, knees forward and down, changing that "hollow" loin look from dramatic to not that bad. Seems either way, the rear angle is a little better for the blue. Seems blue has wider shoulders, too.
Took new pics & weight to list black, and obviously I had to second guess myself yet again. Lol. Still listed black, didn't flip flop.

Everyone just getting snow. You drain hoses, they still freeze.

Penny & Opal, failures. Rebred.
Chick, Jet's daughter, had her kits! Made hole larger, but didn't count. Too busy trying to get them water. Sire is Guilded.

We broke a water tub open for the horses last night, about 4-5" thick ice. They do good up to about 2 inches, they can break that, but the super thick stuff they need help with.

For me the best system for freezing weather water is to have two water bowls per cage. Twice a day pull water bowls into a bucket, that gets brought inside to thaw, and replace the iced bowls. You don't always have to bring in every bowl depending on how many rabbits learn to drink water when you fill it.
Thaw bowls in the bucket to keep possible turds out of the sink/tub drain, hahaha.
It is a pain with more cages going, just the excess of bowls to buy. When it's not as cold you can switch them out daily. When it's bitter cold you gotta do twice a day. But the best system I've found to work for me.

Young ones got hay, even if not pictured with it. Nests got more hay, going to be 14F tonight.

Malty kits split so they still have water by morning.

Tealy buck moved in with Quincy kits to give Malty kits room.

Update on Cruella's 2nd litter. REWs, blues n castors.

Ugh, found a disaster this morning. Phone calendar didn't save the date and Malty lost a litter. But it gets more weird. She had kits at all stages of development that died! Cold snap must of affected her, too? Idk. Bizarre and sad...
Interesting to see progress, though.

Mix of fully cooked and parts of other failed kits. Mom and 2 kits ate at these.

5 fully cooked.

Bottom one, I couldn't tell if it was ready or not...

All together, at least 12 kits.

Decided to list this doe. Other three, waiting on...still...lol

This litter's shapes included. Hmm, keep the biggest black, biggest broken or the best shaped broken?

Rex × SF litter. Going great for mutts and pure SF.

Based on SF chart, these are doing okay to great. Mutt chart starts at 6wk.

These two suffered greatly at nest leaving age, 2-3wks. Both lost kits and have skinny & stunted kits.

Under weight for Rex chart for both, doing poorly.

Looks like 2nd Quincy litter is trying to keep pace with Tealy's buck's growth history.

REW is still listed & doe staying.

Forgot to get pics n weights of Coral litter yesterday, so here they are today.

Changed who I listed out of these.
Flat steel doe in 1st pic, 1st row is listed. Other two held back.

Ugh, held back both.

These two stayed listed.

And where are they on the growth charts?

The 3 bottom steels are good in the mutt chart, all good for the SF chart and the rex fur ones are all above minimum for Rex chart. So, a good mix overall.

Have three buns sales lined up for 4 buns.

Storm ruined a big sale and another sale, but hopefully these go through.
