I swear by Ivermectin! 1 drop and only 2 treatments and BAM! bunnies are comfortable and happy.

Ivermectin has so many great uses. Had she just told me she wasn't pregnant she could have had it sooner

I am floored at how quickly it's healing compared to when she came treated with the other stuff. I thought it was healing from how it was when she first came. I'm so happy she's so much more comfortable now.

Then oil again. In a couple of days, it'll all be out. At that point, use qtips to whip everything clean. Then a light coat of oil to continue soothing and smothering them.

She was treated with 1 drop in each ear last week. Will repeat in 18 days from the original treatment. There was an incredible difference from the evening to the following morning. Will update again as she's going along. So far so good. Far different healing than the natural treatment from the breeder. Her personality seems to be improving as well.

She was treated by the breeder the day she arrived with the treatment I posted in this thread not ivermectin and was told she would be good. I questioned the scabs but trusted that was the way it would be while healing. I've never seen mites that bad before. I've treated plenty of mites in other species over the years but not rabbits. That's why I posted a picture for help. It seemed like it wasn't actually healing but getting worse. She wasn't scratching them or doing a noticeable amount of head shaking. Normally I would just take a scraping and look under a microscope but we were past that with her. On top of it she could have been pregnant so we were trying not to cause problems with the coming kits. She turned out not to be bred so we went direct with ivermectin. This is not a doe that allows handling without a fight.
This doe's ears are fully healed. There's been a pretty noticeable attitude adjustment not long after the first Ivermectin treatment. She's still grumpy and stand offish but she's not aggressive and will lay quiet once I've got a hand on her now. We are at the reapplication time and like clock work she has started scratching that ear suddenly. Noticed scratch marks last night at feeding. She's been retreated on time. Hopefully this is the end of it. She did great with treatment this time. Allowed me to even touch her ears without trying to get away. Put the drops in and she just laid there for a minute then off she went. A little head shaking I'm guessing from mites running around post treatment but she seems to be doing great otherwise.
