Guys, we have shared pics of Popples. We have shared Pics of pretty purebreds. Is there a thread devoted to just plain 'ol good Mutts and their offspring??

I am having more fun 'experimenting' with mutts than I ever did with my show stock. And I know I am not alone so SHOW US YOUR PRETTY MUTT PICTURES!! Multi generations most welcome - tell us how they are related. (Note to viewers who do not yet own adorable mutts: they are addictive. Addiction can occur simply by looking at .jpgs. RT is not responsible for what occurs in your bunnybarn after seeing the following. Offer not good in stores. Exclusions may apply, Prices may be subject to monkeys, etc etc.)

I love mutts! Who doesn't?

Oh my beloved Barney, my avatar bunny

He is the lovely pet, Dutch mix. He makes me happy everytime I see him. (And he feels the same way about me... Only if I have a raisin of course)

Jana he's GORGEOUS!!!! You know, Dutch are striking but a mismarked Dutch like this guy is stunning!

The pride of my meat rabbit crossing. Arinsu the chocolate mini rex x creme d'argent buck who is now father to all my meat rabbits:

I showed this guy in another thread because he's being fostered by the mini rex doe but he's out of their first litter

Champagne d'argent x Creme d'argent which I don't consider much of a crossbreed but in the US each color is declared a different breed so technically we've made 3 breeds out of them

I agree: they are all so cute!!! :)

BUT -- Akane; thanks to you, Now I want the cuties in:
Red creme d'argent x Arinsu(mini rex x creme d'argent)

Arinsu makes such cute looking things. I think part of it is I love his head and while he has his flaws if you use the average standard for a commercial type breed his body shape is well balanced when sitting upright and moving around with good muscle mass so he makes cute little stocky kits with lots of rufus modifiers. I find them much more appealing than what we were getting from the other 2 bucks. The temperament of our rabbits also improved 10 fold by only using Arinsu. I haven't gained another scar in months and I was constantly looking like I had a fight with a wood chipper for the past year and a half since we really started raising meat rabbits. Honneppoi was the last one to nail me about 4months ago and I learned to respect a checkered giant, even a crossbred one.

Biscuit, aka watchbunny.
She's a lovely big rabbit. Throws 13 kits per litter. Grumbles and growls but never bites. Comes when called if let out to run. I really like this doe. She's the last daughter of "old jack" so she's got a place in all our hearts... even hubbys' who she won't let touch her.

Mods, please delete this post... i apparently have no idea how to post pics...

 Mods, I beseech you! Don't let 'er off that easy.

Pyronymph,

please try, try again! Pics are required to keep our Rabbitosis in check or to give it a little boost as the need arises. Plus you earn more bunnybucks by doing so! :p

I love raising mutts! The nestboxes are so much fun! :p

This is our original buck, Thumper. He's possibly a purebred Minilop:

This is Pearl. She was a Flemish Giant cross. We sadly lost her last year to fur impaction:

Here are some of the buns from their first litter:

The second picture is Squeak, who we kept as a second doe. The third picture is Pinto, who is now our working buck.

This is Fluffy, a doe who was given to us, and is probably a NZW:

So there's the setup: our three does Pearl (likely red with chinchilla gene, resulting in white), Squeak (chinchilla), and Fluffy (albino), and our working buck Pinto (broken chestnut). Now for the resulting litters!

Another Squeak x Pinto litter, several of which we ended up supplementing with formula. I guess we were so tied up with it, I didn't take many pictures:

Fluffy x Pinto, a very interesting litter that included what appeared to be a broken black (last pic) and a broken chocolate. Unfortunately, we were so busy hand-feeding several of Squeak's litter and the bun in the second pic below, who kept escaping and missing meals (and ended up with a fungal infection in its feet), I didn't get many pictures of them. I'll do better next time:

Looking toward the future, I plan to (as they each kick the bucket) replace our breeders with more meaty rabbits. I would like, though, to have three different color does, and yet a different color buck, in order to keep the nest boxes surprising! :D

Oh, they are so sweet, Miss M! I like how you get "all hands on deck" to hold the little kits for photo ops! What a great idea. :p I think my favorite pic is #18, where a litter is all crammed into a corner, with the little grey and white on it's back.

You certainly get nice varied litters! Have you been keeping pelts?
