I used square straw bales to make the walls leaving a small gap for the buns to access, then just put lids on like full sheets of plywood. I do have some totes with holes the does could nest in but they prefer their own holes to have their kits in.

Funny thing about that is my does that are my breeding stock I don’t eat I allow them to live out their life with the heard as I keep my rabbits in a 3000 square foot pen. I only eat my grow outs/culls.

My dogs watch me kill the rabbits, the dogs are outside the pen as I have a large communal pen. I throw each dead rabbit out of the pen where my 3 German Shepards are. None, I repeat none of my dogs touch the still convulsing rabbit. They may look and may sniff from a distance but will not touch...
