    Blue Tort Otter ND

...yeah, I should probably read up on genetics a bit :D I currently have blue and black otters, as well as a chestnut.

    Protecting the Wood

In the process of building a standalone hutch which needs to withstand BC's great (rainy) outdoors. The wood isn't treated at all, but I'd like to seal it with something that won't be toxic to my rabbits. The outside I'll probably be painting all barn-like red with normal paint (that the rabbits...

    Blue Tort Otter ND

Now, I know it isn't a recognizable colour...but what would I breed to get something like this?

Uh...what's up with my doe's brain?

Oh, I'd love to rebreed her, but can't find a buck -_-

Uh...what's up with my doe's brain?

All day today my doe (not expecting kits, had a stillborn litter a couple of weeks ago) has been collecting timothy hay and carrying it around all day today. I put some more in her cage this evening as there was hardly any, and she acted like she had just won the lottery skipping around then...

    Mama bun not eating cecotropes

Do I need to be worried? She isn't fed any treats, etc. Currently on a mixture of rabbit pellets and whole oats.

Massive litter for a Netherland Dwarf

My Netherland Dwarf doe kindled seven kits this morning! All of them are alive and look well, from what I can tell there is only one that looks a little smaller than the others, but it's still not a massive difference. Apparently this is the doe's second litter and she was a good mum first time...

Seal Netherland Dwarf doe? Would you buy it?

If I had found that doe around here (where even unshowable ND's go for $120 easy) I would have snapped her up. Her ears do look a little long to me, but even if she didn't grow into them, it can still be worked with, especially if you can't find many ND's in your area (as was also the case with...

Why did you choose the name you did, for your rabbitry?

I just got my ARBA registration confirmation, woot! My Rabbitry name is "Wylde." I have the business name Wyldeflowers so I thought it would be easy to go along with it (business expense write off :P ). Something kinda cool sounds with "Wylde's Atlas (etc rabbit names)" too, that I like. Now I...

    Quarantine

Thanks for all your replies! Two does (which came from the same breeder) are in separate cages in the foyer and new buck is now in the quiet back laundry room. Will be dealing with him last and making sure I've really washed my hands in between handling and won't be breeding for at least a month...

    Should I buy...

    Bought him tonight :)

    Quarantine

What actions should one take when quarantining a new rabbit? Possibly picking up a new buck tomorrow and don't want to possibly spread anything between him and my does.

    Should I buy...

Will post more pictures soon... In the meantime... Yes or no? Two and a half year old buck, has been the stable herd buck but the breeder wants to replace him with his son. I am looking for a blue self or otter buck to help start my herd, would this be a good pick?
