so I had a thought come to me the other day and i have no idea if it is possible, but i wanted to breed mini rex and make my own line and variety if possible. what I want to do is
have a Himi or sable point rabbit but not with the standard white on the body so instead of the white be another color like brown or something is that possible?
I've attached an image.. don't judge me for my "paint skills" AHHA!!

Yes, black torts look like light brown/orange rabbits with black points:

Siamese sables also look like brown rabbits with black points:

(These are all photos I lifted from the internet, I can't get to any of my own photos right now.)

Torts and siamese sables can vary widely in their body and point color. Like judymac said, you could get one of these colors and breed toward refining their points.
Note, both tort and siamese sable look shaded, but their shaded appearance comes from very different genetic sources. The gene for sable (a truly shaded color) is tricky and interacts with lots of other genes. Tort, on the other hand, is simply a non-extension self; both those genes are recessive so they are *much* easier to set and work with! You can find both genes in mini rex fairly easily (depending on what part of the country you are looking).
