Bluebelle was too impatient to wait, so she gifted me with 8 babies on day 30!

Again, such a good mom....in the box, cleaned, fed, fur pulled. So glad I found her on CL that day...even if she did used to be a "Hubert"!

:mbounce: YAYYYY! Popples! We just bred our Dutch to our NZW yesterday to raise feeders and some meat rabbits so hopefully we will have some popples of our own soon! Not fun being poppleless!

Our dutch is so small. I don't know that I'd breed him for meat. I'm trying to figure out what to do with him.

Sorry to hijack... just hadn't ever thought of breeding him for meat.

I can't wait to see how these fur out! Congrats!!

Good job, Hubelle! Er... Bluebert! I mean Bluebelle!

Not bad for a bunny visited by the SCF so late in the game!

Actually, Dutch make quite good meat rabbits. They are small, but they have very good meat to bone ratio.

congrats on the new litter! I love the little pink nose poking out!

I know, right?

Dutch are the original backyard meat rabbit. They also used to be a few pounds larger than you generally see now. There are some of the larger type still around though.
