Bald bunny foot

None of my rabbits have ever had this happen they all live in a wire floored cage with a piece of wood or tile for them to rest there feet on.

What could cause this?

He sits on a piece of wood now and don't really want to leave but I poked it gently and it dont seem to be causing him any pain

That is called a sore hock. No wonder he dosnt want to leave it.

Wow, I've never seen anything quite like that before. :shock: Does it have an odor? Yeast will smell like dirty socks.

It doesn't look like typical "sore hocks" to me- mine will usually just get a small bald area which will sometimes scab over. You might try something to treat it as a fungus. If there are any Feed Stores in your area, you can try Nu-Stock or Blu-Kote. Both are effective for fungal and bacterial infections.

Oh yes i have sheepdog... Actually i have see it on all fours. Rare. I had a doe that i bought from someone ...Didnt know it at the time...but had all one foot raw. I culled it as soon i seen it.
also sore hocks is a fungus in a way. Treat it was anifungus sprays or ointments like you mentioned and she will get better.

I had no idea they could get completely bald like that, but yet not have the entire foot be raw and bloody. It almost looks like he scraped all of the fur off of his foot.

I touched it and he don't flinch or anything I Will definitely be getting some anti fungle when the feed store opens back up in the morning and checking everyone elses feet very carefully

Check the length of the claws, do they need to be clipped? The claws may hurt so much, that the rabbit is sitting on it's hocks.
