Direct from Texas A&M University. Two breeding age Tamuk's. TBH: They
look a little rough. The trip from one climate to another accelerated their
molt, making them look like they just came out of the "Fluff" cycle in the
dryer. They're 13 months old and have been used in the research facility.

We'll see if they "improve" the overall productivity of the herd. If they don't,
they've got a ticket on the first snake-train outa here. It'll take a few months
to come to any kind of conclusion.

BTW: Gotta good deal on some 20' sticks of white roof-decking @50 cents a
running foot. Looks to be enough to do the roof on the new grow-out area.
Had a big downturn in my health last fall and wasn't able to do a heckuva lot.
But, I'm feelin' a little better and ready to "hit-it" again....I hope. LOL.
My blood/oxygen was real low and so was my energy. Better now w/new
meds.

I hope they work out well for you. My "composite" does I bought from TAMUK were one hit and one miss. The miss was made into a pot pie long ago, but the hit Doe is now the basis for my line of Does. Great mother!

Glad yoi're feeling better,.Grumpy. Not having energy and not being able to do anything about it is really frustrating. Happy the Docs got it right!

Will be watching to see how these bucks.work out...
Thanks a bunch....Last winter was the first winter in over 50 years that I
didn't set a trap. Just doing chores and keeping up with the rabbits was
about all I could handle.

It only takes "one" really good rabbit to put a herd in a different classification.
Her daughters and granddaughters will be stars in the future. 90% of my
does go back to a great doe. As luck would have it, I accidentally had her
land in my lap. Sure glad that I did. Hopefully one of the two bucks will
be what I'm looking for. Only time will tell.

So glad you are up and at em again..I am a believer in the one great doe theory..I'm getting all next years breeders from my one winner..as long as I can talk hubby into eating the "pretty momma, fuzzy bunnies". :p

I have liked everyone of the rabbits from doctor Lukefahr, from the school or from his house, they have been great!

That's good to know Mike. I was hoping someone close to the University
would offer their opinion. Thanks for your post.

Their long journey threw them into a pretty rough molt. Of course they may
have already started beforehand, but the trip here accelerated the hair loss.
I'm anxious to see how they'll look afterwards. Right now, they look like
they've been pulled through a knot-hole backwards.

Grumpy.

Hey Grumpy! Glad to see you are up and kicking. If you were gonna miss a season of trapping this last season was the one to miss. Prices are pretty bad.

I have a TAMUK buck and two TAMUK does that I got from OneAcreFarm. They have clicked really well with the strains I got from you. I feel like you will likely be pleased with the results of intermingling the two strains.
