And fed it to my rabbits, It's a Balsam Popular or one of the X-hybrids (I live at the Mix zone and the parts I read said not to bother trying to distinguish between the Populus Nigra (Black Cottonwood) and the Balsam popular, both are 'browse' plants for moose, and one source mentioned that hares liked the seedlings.

So the sapling that's grown over 12 feet in 2 years (and much to close to my shed) is going to be managed like this and I'm thinking I'll take down the big cotton wood in 6-8 foot sections... so it too can feed my bunnies, think I'll leave about 4 feet and then cut it back when I need food for the buns, and the willow that'll open up more sun for my garden.
