What is the best cage size for mini rex rabbits? These are rabbits that will be bred and taken to shows.

We have been raising Californian rabbits and their are about 36x30.

Can the mini rex thrive in a smaller cages?

Thanks!

2x2' works fine for a single rabbit. 18x24" isn't even too bad although personally I wouldn't do it long term but that's my quarantine or backup cage size and the young doe in it now doesn't look too scrunched. Growout and doe cages need to be slightly bigger. We build our cages in 48" sections and then have dividers so we can make 2, 2x2' or pull a divider for growout and does with kits.

i wouldn't do anything less than 24 x 24. A buck I find can be kept short term in a smaller cage but will start to shut down after a while... or being hyper busy.

I have them kindle their kits in a 30 x 24.
