I didn't have enough rabbits.. so I got a new one!
Bestla.
She is, believe it or not, a purebred Belgian Hare. She was referred to as a ''cross'' or ''mutt'' but when I tried to find more information I found out that she is purebred (and we have stricter pedigree rules than across the sea, you can't just breed a few generations and say it's purebred, it needs to have the paperwork way down the lines.), but concidered a mutt because she's so un-typical to the breed. From what I gathered both her parents has been shown and her dad is actually a champion. Not bragging, I couldn't care less since I don't show, really, but it's funny how compact she is for being a hare
She's a very good mother and she carries tan. Or solid? She's had tan kits, at least, I don't know if that was with a tan buck or not. I know Peta couldn't get a tan kit even with a tan doe, but Loki can for sure with her! :groovyhippie2:
I'm excited about her! I will try my best to introduce her to the colony. I think it shouldn't be a problem since most of the does I have left are kits/younglings. I intend to take a car ride with her and Tistel after she's been in quarantine, to make them accept each other. I really do hope that will work.. but with Ran/Sotöra gone, Tistel is the only adult doe left. And I don't think she's very dominant.
Well, here she is, molting and all! My Belgian hare that looks more like a Deilinaar rabbit! Not sure she'll pass that on, but I definetly wouldn't mind it! She's meaty and not fat at all
(and..yeah.. this is the second free rabbit I got from this super awesome breeder Makes me feel proud! And grateful. Same woman who gave me Loki and whom I bought Peta from )
