    Grow Out Cage Question

I have actually thought about putting together grow out cages that have `draft` on all sides so they can nest and save space when not in use. And a removeable flat top cover to match. Turned over they could also serve as day use rabbit tractors.

He told the owner he would....

Re: Saccos My father taught me -- Never say anything you would be ashamed of if it was front page news. And a mentor once told me -- You are a master of your words before they are uttered. They are your master thereafter. I remember this incident making the news. The young lady made a...

    a fair viscious dog ruling

Pit Bulls get a bad rap. Any breed can be trained good or bad. The unfortunate thing is PB's have the equipment to make bad behavior a nasty affair.

He told the owner he would....

Why has it become so common for AR people to use death threats??? --------------------------- Because it works I am afraid. It has gotten to the point that politicians cower from militant groups. The result is rather than standing up for the livestock owner who is the victim they would rather...

    Horses- feed lease contracts- legality?

Get a copy of a rent-to-own contract. Then look at the liability and merchantability clauses. Copy them in any arrangement you come up with. The rental people have seen it all and have the clauses all covered for practically any contingency.

    Pitt bull atacked my rabbits.

I would have no pause in offing the dog found in the act. Have had dogs most of my life, love'm. But when they are doing something they should not, like the red queen says -- "Off with their heads!" Having said all that if the dog appeared to be contrite you have an unusual task. Presuming you...

Who do you sell your meat to?

kelikani, Something else to consider would be raising the buns under contract. Find someone who already has the necessary sales outlets and work an arrangement to sell your output to them. Doing so my obligate you to only raise a particular breed, delivered at a particular weight for sale. You...

    A Craigslist Post Worth Reading!

I hate to taint this thread with the mention of money, but that is part of the equation. Many shelter operators receive a good percentage of their operating budget from government entities and private donors. Now how long would such an operation last if the shelter had no more pets? Then where...

Pricing opinion? Have a buyer for ALL of our excess rabbits!

Comet, First of all congrats! Not everyday you get a `bulk sales` deal right out of the gate. I looked at your calculations. I did not see that you included the feed cost of your breeders as well. Or did I miss that? You could take this perspective. What would be my families personal...

Opinions please on my CL ad for sale of rabbit meat!

I hear ya. Using the term non-GMO is just a non certifiable way to say organic without using the term. You can't be organic and use GMO based feeds. I would be interested in your results on sales as you should be able to command a premium.

Opinions please on my CL ad for sale of rabbit meat!

I would check your State's rules on use of the word `organic`. Some may require you have a certificate to use the term. It means you have been inspected, the feed has been inspected, and your overall facility has no offending items. A better fit might be `non-GMO fed stock`. Anybody serious...

Pros & Cons of choosing to focus on one breed or multiple

Slightly different suggestion might be to consider some of the heritage breeds that are on the ALBC list. Many blood lines now are in the sole providence of hobby raisers and need support and expansion to save the breed.

    Rabbit POOP!!--w/a few pics....now.

Got the Pooo. Now time to capture the urine. :) People actually pay for that as well as a liquid nitrogen fertilizer. Its also used in the medical industry, but the requirements are very stringent. Little 1# sacks of the poo would go gang buster on Amazon. Course you may not want to do the...
