Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

The problem with that is the yummy weeds are further away than the even yummier veggies!! I have a feeling they will go after the good stuff that is literally right outside their nest before they even make it to the ground where the weeds are :)

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

I know I'm not supposed to bother them, but I've been handling them once a day when I check on the nest. I guess that puts the "don't touch or mom will abandon them" myth to rest for once and for all. Oh, and the sad broccoli plant is still alive. Still sad, but there!

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

Well, here are two of them. Look how much they've grown! Sorry for the fuzzy picture, the man doesn't have a good grasp of his camera phone operation. All five are fat and healthy and wiggly. And my garden is showing only minor damage so far...

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

Well, there's been a nice steady rain for the last few hours today, so if they drown, it won't be my doing, at least! I've decided to leave them and see what happens. I'm a softie, I know. Might as well kiss my garden goodbye now.

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

Mama, they are so close that the mother rabbit probably nibbles on the plants while she nurses!! I can see she's already helped herself to some of them. Well, at least my spoiled indoor bunny likes the broccoli thinnings as much as the wild one did.

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

While I'm not averse to leaving them there, my main concern, besides the eventual smorgasbord they will make of my garden, is how to water the neighboring plants while not drowning the little munchers? Why me? And when I say IN my garden, I mean my raised bed box:

Help! Rabbit nest in my garden

So I was standing with the hose in my hand, peacefully watering my fledgling garden, when suddenly the mulch started to move. Being as how I did not plant any Mexican jumping beans, this needed investigating. Right between my peas and my broccoli, guess what I found? Can anyone give me a...

    Weed ID, please

Please help me identify this weed in my lawn and flower beds. I need a positive ID, as I am trying to determine if it is safe to feed my rabbit. I initially thought it was a plantain, but all plantains have parallel veins, and this one has branched veins. Location: Chicago suburbs. Picture...

    What color is he?

Thanks! The vet tech kept exclaiming about how pretty he was, lol. Snack is wobbly, but home. Poor stoned bunny.

    What color is he?

I wish I could get a good picture of his eyes. Such a gorgeous grey color! He's at the vet right now, getting neutered. Hope he does ok, since he's so small. Only 2 lbs, 3 ozs!
