Early October 4th, Luna blessed us with 4 lovely kits.

They are now 3 weeks old, well tomorrow they will be, but I could wait to share how big they got and how fuzzy they have become. The nest box is gone. Ditched the shelf idea because Luna didn't want that big of a change. Luna is now enjoying the space the nest box took up and reclining with her kits. The kits have found a nice corner of the crate and I've put hay there for them to bundle up in. Kits are eating hay, eating pellets, and now chasing Mom for a drink. Luna is really doing such a great job. All I have to do is watch and also get to play with them.

Here's my First Lions!

Should be interesting in what their final coloring will be. But just so fun to watch the change.

My REW's are just classic white.

You can really see the saddle that will form at maturity and sides are starting to show wool.

What a precious face! Look at that Wool coming up between those ears.

Can't help but have Pride in My First Litters of Lions!

They are beautiful!! I like the FG for the big rabbits, and I keep looking at lionheads of all the smaller breeds. They are really cute and healthy looking!

I love your chocolates!!! They look so cute cuddled up togather in the corner

Thanks! Really enjoying watching these little ones grow, just like you are with your FG's. Plus now you can actually feel the wool coming in. Just so soft. Luna is doing an excellent job. Very lucky that it's all gone so well so far and I have these 4 little ones. Hoping it all continues and the weaning goes well. Won't have to worry about it for a few weeks though. But it is a very important step for a young rabbit. Full transition to solid food.

Do you think they are chocolate? At first I thought they were, but in certain lights they look "gun metal". I'm hoping they were chocolate. But having the REW kits, which are considered in the black family, is throwing me off. Should be interesting as they develop. Really hope they are chocolate. I'm so inexperience regarding color, I keep questioning myself. Time will tell.

Yup them be chocolates How adorable are they :) I kinda miss my lionheads but just kinda. I like my Flemmish LOL

they look chocolate to me. You could just be seeing the undercoat, I have noticed long haired animal color does look different from that of shorthaired animals.

Thanks Jessica and Cindi for your help. So thrilled to know that I was at least in the ball park with the coloring. You both really made my day! I was hoping those two were chocolate. Both are starting to show a darker shading on the nose and ears so I'm hoping that I get my first wish, Chocolate Torts. What's really great for me is that both REW and Chocolate are doing their presentation at the Convention so I could have 4 future show rabbits. Now, it's time to figure out what sex they are. Hoping one of the Chocolates is a doe.

I hope all goes well at convention for the LionHeads. That would be really nice. Then you would be able to show your bunnies. Im sure you would really enjoy that. Yours are beautiful. :)

Lionheads are going to take over I believe. We already have 20-30 at each show now. So many people posting that they are getting more stock at Convention. We may have 75-100 at a show this time next year, right up there with Mini Rex, Holland lops and ND.

That's so good to hear! It's been a very long, up hill battle for this breed. My hats off to all that got Lion Heads to where they are today! I'm just benefiting from those who worked hard to get this breed noticed. Look forward to one day showing mine.

Super cute. I'd love to get some chocolate, myself!

Thanks!

Am just enamored with my Chocolates. But also my REW's. Luna was very sweet to give me two of each. Hoping they take after their Father regarding their mane and ear length.

I'm hoping to read one day about your successful litter of BEW's. Fingers crossed here that you find the Lion Heads that will help you start.

Like little jumping beans. And race around, they are amazingly getting fast. Exercising their legs, trying out their new abilities. Standing, climbing, looking around. Settling down in different areas to nap, with a group or individually. Also eating pellets, hay and also drinking water. Luna is doing a superb job as a New First Time Mom. We are just tickled pink!

Reassessed the issue of gender and I believe I have 3 bucks and 1 doe. The Chocolates and one REW are bucks. I have one REW doe. Well, this is what I believe. I'll be checking as they get older. Want to separate properly and have no accidental breeding.

Did come up with names for all of them. From this last reassessment.

The Larger Chocolate, we named Cedric
The Smaller Chocolate, we named Sirius
The REW Buck, we named Albus
The REW Doe, we named Molly

I will be diligently watching the growth of both Chocolate bucks. One will be a keeper to breed back to Luna. Hoping the smaller buck is the one. Also I'm looking to put bucks on the show table. Regarding a doe, I'm going to breed Luna and Neville again to see if I get a colorful doe.

That's the plan as it stands. We all know things do change. That dang sex fairy shows up and POOF, plans change. But all is well with the Z Tribe. Taking it day by day. Will get some recent pics here. Just loving my Fuzzy Tribe members.
