Well, lost my first older kit bred here last night. Not entirely sure what happened, but my best guess is he choked on a pellet. All around and in his mouth was dissolved pellet goop, also on his front paws like he was pawing at his mouth. However he is missing chunks of fur, which are all over the cage, so I'm not sure if maybe his siblings tried to move him after he was dead, or were all picking on him because he was sat in the middle of the food, or what. I'm sure the only way to know exactly why he died is to perform a necropsy, or take him to the vet for one, but I can't do that myself, and can't afford to have it done by the vet.

That's 2... now I'm nervously awaiting the 3rd.

RIP Little Black Guy. Just passed 5 weeks old :(

How sad! I'd really like to know exactly what happened too. Poor little guy. :(

Well, I didn't hear anything last night. I normally would have woken up if there was a commotion as the dog freaks right out and panics when something's going on with the rabbits. I hope that it was a freak occurrence though, and not some sort of illness.

I seriously hope this isn't the start of some sort of trend. It's getting depressing, what with Little Charlie and now the black kit dying.

I wonder now... I had given them alfalfa cubes, because I forgot to bring in hay before dark last night, and had a bag laying around. It was the first time they'd had them, I wonder if he had issues with them??
