As some of you remember, I ended up with two standard rex "does" that turned out to be bucks with a split penis. The breeder was good enough to exchange them for me. However, I just had to cull one of the little girls and she was sooo sweet. My boys are at their grannies atm but they are going to be so upset. She would come to the door of the cage and let them pet her and they both loved her.

She had a bit of a snotty nose. I was feeding herbs to try and help her get over it but she wasn't improving. I picked her up a bit ago and could hear her rattle when she breathed so I did the deed. I checked her lucks and while I'm not positive, I think they were affected. She was a tiny little thing about 1/2 the size of her sister so I think, she just had a weak immune system. I know I didn't need her in my herd like she was but dang she was a sweet little bun. Sweetest bun I've had by far.

My quest for standard rex does just hasn't gone to well.... Thank goodness I have plenty of 1/2 rex to choose from.

The sweetest rabbit I ever had was also a snotty doe :( Is it possible that they are just itchy and sick and want attention and sctratching on the nose/head/ears? She was also the toughest one to dispatch - screaming, kicking, we had to tore the flesh/bones apart because the knife was just not good enough. poor baby

omg... that's horrible...

She just wanted to live :(

I couldn˙t do it so my father in law stepped in. He is 65 years old and he was butchering rabbits all his life but never saw anything like that. She was tougher than really old rabbits
