What is her diet? Is she still drinking? When is she due? Does sometimes go off their feed a few days before kindling and the heat would make this more likely.
Sludge in the urine can be due to excess calcium being excreted. I suggest adding ACV (apple cider vinegar) to her drinking water at a rate of 1-2 Tablespoons per gallon. It won't hurt her and it may help.
If the problem is something more serious, then I will have to leave it for others to answer.
I would think calcium, too... ACV, oatmeal, maybe flax if you can get it, all those things suggested by Maggie and Mary Ann.
My does often go off feed a day or two before they kindle. But sometimes, any or all of my rabbits will just about quit eating when it gets really hot.
stupid question, but is ACV with 'the mother' supposed to be refrigerated or left out? I have never refrigerated mine, but now I'm wondering if I'm supposed to :hmm:
she is due in 2 weeks, if my buck go the job done. i have been doing the ACV and she eats mostly ManaPro pellets i keep dried prairie grass in these pens and usually give them a hand full of grass from the yard nightly. My NZ buck and my CAL are on the same diet and there habits have not not changed. the heat is suposta break Sunday, a week of 100 + heat index is tough on everything...
As far as I know, you don't have to refrigerate ACV with the mother.
She shouldn't go off feed two weeks beforehand if it's pregnancy-related, but it could definitely be heat-related. As long as she's drinking, pees and poops normally, and starts eating again eventually, I wouldn't worry too much.
She is starting to come around was interested in the oatmeal and greans tonight. She really liked the ice water.. till it melted. Thanks everyone

__________ Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:50 am __________

Do I need to close this post somehow?
