as some of you know I only have two adult rabbits. I want to extend my herd and my mother won’t ship rabbits from far places so I want to keep some rabbits from my first litter (and I might keep some from my second litter) but I can’t decide which ones.

The first one is a false Charlie magpie. He is really sweet and he was the biggest kit. he also has really nice fur.

The second is a broken magpie (I think) that has a really nice pattern. His fur is also nice and is probably also going to be medium. He acts a little bit like his dad, Mus, which might be a problem.

The third is an other broken magpie. She is really explorative and nice. she also has medium fur.

I have already decided that the fourth will be giving as a pet. He is the smallest and I don’t think that he will make a good meat rabbit.

Names would be nice if you guys can come up with some.

It depends on what you will use them for.

Also some name suggestions are Creek, Dime, Alester, and Feather

I vote you keep the biggest male with an eye to possibly replacing the cranky male. If they are supposed to be meat rabbits you want heavy hindquarters and loin area, that is where the most meat will be, so watch for sturdy wide bunny butts! This is also a good thing in a doe, who will need to have kits. Just be sure you are choosing heaviest bodies, not longest legs or fluffiest fur when you are judging meat rabbit size. Those might be important for pets or other breeds, but meat is all about muscle. If you have ever petted a male cat that has not been nutered, and one that has, you will understand the heavy muscley feeling. It helps me to put my hands on their loin and hindquarters and close my eyes when comparing.

This is also about how fast they grow--so don't be afraid to change your mind if a small one suddenly outgrows his sibling.

you probably don't need to keep both bucks at this point. I would choose the nicest meat-type boy with the best temperament. Keep whichever girls you want. They look rather young at this point to be making choices... don't count out the small ones at this age as they can totally surprise you.

Names: connor, lily, frankie, mike, temper,

Lily has already been taken. I like temper and feather and Alester but it is to long so temper for the second one and feather for the only female.
for the white one I wan’t a name that is sweet but not to sweet like Franke but more like lily except for a buck.

You could call the little doe Iris and stick with the flower theme...Lily and Iris..and maybe Remi or Lark for bucks...anyway, they are cute ☺️

Maybe lark for the white buck. I would like more bird based names. I think I will keep the white one and feather. I will breed temper once and if his babies are nice I will keep him for a little while but I will keep lark as a breeder and by the time that they can breed i will have new rabbits to breed them to.

i have made up my mind. I will keep the white buck (how is now the second biggest) and feather (how is the biggest). temper (how is the smallest) will be a pet and the other one will get eaten(his name is dinner).

by the way feather has REALLY fluffy cheeks she is so cute and also temper is the only one that is not like mus he has the least fluffy cheeks and has the body of lily (which is terrible for a meat rabbit).

first picture is of feather. the second is of the white buck. The third is of dinner and the four is of temper. The fifth is of dinner and temper.

Later I will send pictures of them posed for your guy’s option on who has the best body for a meat rabbit.
