My doe is at 32 days since being bred and has not kindled yet. She I've very obviously pregnat. I palated her and another breeder did. We both felt multiple babies, and she is HUGE! This is her first litter and she is 13 months old. I never breed does for the first time that old so this doe has me on the edge of my seat. Most of my lionheads kindle at 29 to 32 days. I've had some kindle before but never after. When should I be conserned about stuck kits or retained fetuses?

Does can go 35+ days so just breathe and relax. She'll go when she's ready.
:p haha this is why I try not to get attached to my does to much. My other does, I give them there nest box, feed them, and pop one day I have babies. I barely even think about it. For some reason I took a very strong liking to this doe and got to attached.... Shame on me...

Here's hoping she pops soon! :) The wait can be hard. Rabbits hardly ever take our feelings into consideration unfortunatly. Wish they would sometimes!

It is true this does has been the biggest booger. Took me near 4 months to get her bred trying every 3 days, has been extremely grumpy her entire pregnancy biting and scratching (completely unlike her when she is not pregnant) and now she won’t pop! :slap:

If she does not give me a healthy litter in this or the next try I’m selling her even though she is such a sweet heart when breeding is out of the mix.

*fingers crossed for Cowgirl and Miss M's does to have healthy popples soon*

Thanks, Marinea... the only other time I had a doe go this long and actually kindle was Fluffy, with a stuck kit, kindling on day 41. Not fun. :(

Thanks Marinea and Miss M here is to hoping it works out for both of us! I will keep you all updated!

I had two does go to day 34 and 35. The doe that went to 35 I think had a difficult birth or stuck kits - as two were DOA and looked long and stretched. The other two in the litter died within the first couple of days, they were always a little off and didn't latch on properly when I flipped the doe.

Okay one last question. Today is day 35 if she does not kindle tonight should I give her lavender to help induce her? She is huge!! Her vent is very swollen but there have not been any signs of contractions, no nest building, no pulling hair, and she is eating normal. From what I have Hurd is that a doe can have a health littler up to day 35 then her chances go down dramatically for having a healthy littler. That is why I'm wondering if you should offer lavender tomarrow...

Parsley also stimulates contractions, but is not as strong, so you could give her some today.

It is safe for nursing does as well, and I give it after kindling to cause the uterus to contract. The contractions also stimulate milk production.

Oh! Awsome I have some parsley in my fridge!! I'll give her that now.

__________ Thu Mar 14, 2013 3:46 pm __________

Still none and she is acting very upset.... Laying down standing up grunting etc... Gahhhh

Please let me know if the parsley helps! I have three does on day 33 and I'm getting pretty stressed out here!

Nothing still..... Idk what to do.... I would just suspect she was not pregnat and rebreed her but with her behavior and size of her belli I think that she has something in there even if it is dead by now.... I don't eat my buns so I can't just butcher her and right now I liitterly have no money for a vet.

What do you guys think... Should I go for a rebreed? She may have aborted or absorbed the kits after I palpated her that just got fat on the pregnat doe amount of food. Idk why she is so crabby then but maybe it is the heat and wanting to breed again? Suggestions?
