I ask this cause I bred my doe about 3-4 days ago *Can't remember off the top of my head but I have it wrote down* And I tried to rebreed her today since it's been just a few days... She wouldn't lift this time like she did the other time. So I'm just wondering if they know when they are pregnant. And if they do when?

Ovulation after a breeding or even a good try at breeding (can be even mounting by another female) is what triggers pregnany hormones and tells the doe she is pregnant even if she's not. In my experience, it's usually in 24 hours. My holland does pretty well refuse to lift a day after breeding, then I can notice other behavior, primarily increased desire to burrow/dig, as well and lunging or crankiness. The older and. More experienced mine get the more mild their symptoms. And these can continue until false pregnant or real pregnancy is over.

I experienced this as well. I bred 2 of my does on Feb 29th-March2 . When i went to bred again the last time.. both does would not sit still for my buck and refused a breeding. He forced the issue that last time, and the does did not take kindly to it.
I'm assuming with multiple fall offs each time i bred the does, that my girls are pregnant. they are due next week... One looks like she's getting a belly but the other does not... we shall see though... due date is coming up!

I bred one of my bigger does to my Netherland Dwarf *More for color outcome than anything **Kinda a fun project for the kids ya know a white doe and broken black dad* He had at least 7 good goes I think 4 the first time then about 3-5 hours later another 3 and she lifted each time so if she isn't pregnant I don't know what lol. She has been acting the same for the most part other than being a touch me not which is how she was last time except this time she isn't getting as round as fast *Last time she got really big and yesterday she stretched out and looked so skinny I'm kinda concerned *It was just when she stretched she looked so small* But I have another doe I also bred to my big black Silver Fox buck and she layed down and lifted the first time but this time she wouldn't lift or barely lay down and when she got the chance she was stomping.

There is no sure fire sign besides babies in box. Does will lift and breed even if pregnant or refuse when not, does are fickle. If good at palpitations can feel, but sometimes even a definite feel turns to no babies because of absorbed or aborted early.
