old fashioned quick oats or rolled/crimped oats from the feed store. I wouldn't use the quick oats because they have more preservatives and such in them for starters. I am sure there are other reasons too but I don't know what they are off hand.

I just grabbed a box of Quaker Rolled Oats out of my cabinet. Seems to be working fine.

Rolled oats are fine, but whole oats from the feed store are a lot less expensive.

:yeahthat: Plus, with whole oats, you have the option of, trying to sprout them. More bang for your buck!

The rolled oats I am talking about at the ones from the feed store. They roll them to partially open the husk on them. For large animals it makes them more digestible. I find that the animals really like them this way because is partially exposes the seed within And I find them to be cleaner this way as well. I pay $13.50 for 100 pounds. :)

Thanks. I currently only have one rabbit and a ton of oatmeal in the cupboard. So might as well use it up.
