Both of our rabbits are gone now and I want to clean the hutch out to prepare for spring when we'll be getting more. I cleaned it out with Dawn and water but there's still a lot of urine and poop there. Is there something better or stronger? I heard of using white vinegar, but can I use that on wood or will it soak in? The hutch has a "living area" and that part is wire, but the "winterbox" is wood, so will whatever I use soak in?

Thanks!

Well urine and feces will soak into the wood. ;) I would scrape out all of the poop first, then use a brush to thoroughly scrub the hutch. I prefer a mixture of hot water with vinegar personally. Soap will work too but it will be harder to get out of the wood.

I've always used bleach and water solution.i don't see why vinegar water solution wouldn't work though.

Vinegar is safer than bleach or iodine if the rabbits decide to gnaw the wood.

I would soak with a 1:4 vinegar:water solution and scrub and scrape (putty knives and paint scrapers work well) to get as much poop off as possible.
