What is this grass?

So I've got some real tall grass growing at the mailbox and in the dog yard. It's about 3.4-4ft tall.
I'll get better pics later, it's just too nasty out to focus...lol.

I find grasses tough to ID. You really need to harvest a whole plant, roots and all, and compare it part by part to diagrams like the ones in the link below.

Tore it all out from the dog yard, will contain the stuff around the road, rest will be torn up as well.
