Hmm. I think it was one of my more recent litters. I got tanish/red, black, gold tipped steel, black and white, and a black with silver (like a young champagne but no champ genes and never fully silvered).

Most of my litters are pretty varied for color. I like them that way!

One pairing threw 9 kits: 5 REW, a self black chin, a chin, a sallander, and an ermine.

Another pair threw 8: 1 fawn, 2 cream, 2 broken fawn, two solid ? Odd colored kits?. Still trying to figure out what they are, and one broken kit the same odd color. Lost one odd colored kit and the fawn. :(

The record in our barn so far is 8 in a litter of 10 Rex kits
Dam was Fawn/cream. Sire was chocolate
2 castor
1 black
1 opal
1 blue
1 amber
2 Lilac Agouti
1 chocolate
1 lilac

All kits were weaned. We kept the brown based kits and the lilac, and lilac agouti [I no longer use the work "lynx" in my barn. Too many different genotypes are being called "Lynx" in the Rex world. I want to know the genotype so ...]does all have their own litters now. Lots of brown genes in the barn these day

Wow. Now that's variety. Doe had a black, black otter, blue otter, chocolate otter and REW

I have had 5 colors in one litter before (9 rabbits): self black, self blue, chestnut, opal, and REW. (Sorry about the shameless self promotion, but it's the only pic of all 5 colors I had on my blog to use.)

This thread really has me wondering what to expect in the Easter basket as I have two litters of Rex on the way.

Now that is a variety !!!!!

7 was the most I had and considering I breed AmChins (only come in 2 colours-chin &blue chin) I was not impressed :(

Chinchilla
Silver tipped steel
Chestnut
Gold tipped steel

I was expecting these from my Gold tipped steel buck crossed to an AmChin doe

BUT THEN....

Black :(
REW
Magpie :groooan:

We're in the same litter.

(I figured my sisters magpie Mini Lop fathered the last one)

My last litter had four colours in it: black, blue, steel and a nice brown, like a white tailed deer brown. The brown has a reddish colouring to it which may come from it's grandmother, Scarlett. Their father Fred is a pure NZ, steel in colour and their mother is a 3/4 NZ, black in colour so I don't know what genes may be in her background. It's sure nice to get some variety instead of the same colour all the time! Haven't got any whites for a long time.

lets see....
my first litter was 7, and they where
2 Blues (1 VM)
1 Broken Blue (vm)
1 Tort (vm)
1 Orange & Blue Harlie (vm)
1 Black (vm)
1 Black & Orange Tri
