Mother is a heavily broken black tort doe (false charlie). Dad was a solid black buck. From his litter with another doe (this does sister) we know the buck carried harlequin. These babies look lighter than their broken black sibling and their color isn't even. They almost look blue with black spots... would love some opinions on what they could be :) They are 2 days old!

well, with Harle in their background, could they be some kind of Tri? I see darker and lighter spots....Interesting...

They are torted tri's = broken + tort + harlequin

Has your false charlie doe ever had a solid kit? It is odd that all 3 kits are broken, 50% should have been solid.

Ahh thank you again Dood. Good to have conformation on what they are for sure!! :D It sure is a pretty pattern. For the longest time (well a whole day haha) I thought they were just broken black... until I started seeing spots!

This was the does first litter, and she only had 4 babies. But they were ALL broken. The fourth was a broken torted tri too, but it sadly passed away. (latched on a nipple and dragged out the nest box I think :()

Her sister (the solid black tort, possible VM) had 4 kits also. 2 Harlequin, 1 solid black and 1 broken torted tri.

The girls mom was a broken black tort and the dad a solid agouti... which was how I was told she was a false charlie and not an actual one.
