what causes babies being born 24 hours later

Boy i sure have lost of questions lately. I hope this is the last.
I have red rabbit give birth yesturday to 2 babies. I didnt breed this rabbit i bought her breed to another red buck. Which i purchase the same day. Now today she had 2 more babies on the wire . What the heck cause this. He tells me that he breeds then waits for about 5 hours or so and breeds again. Is it because there is too pregnancy kinda going on. THis was her first litter . WOuld it be the first mating to place took and the second breeding to place and it also took.I found this very weird.

generally means there was a problem with one of the kits (usually stuck) which holds up the rest of the procession. It really bites when the first kit gets stuck and you lose the whole litter.

i agree. 5 hrs is not too much of a time gap. i have had stuck babies hold up the process before, then the rest come out dead sometimes. usually the stuck kitten is much larger, and is underdeveloped.

yeah i don't do it either. i wait and watch until i see the buck breed 2 or 3 times within a few minutes, then mark the date.
