What age (or breed/breeds) do you suppose he is?

Supposed to be an 8 week old NZ.

The color is possible for NZ, although unshowable. He's a blue tort. aa B_C_ dd ee The parents were a black and a broken black. They must have both carried dilute and non-extension. I love visual recessive colors. Less surprises

anyway, I was thinking "Hey, it would be nice to have a fun color buck that can produce showable kits with the right doe" or something like that, anyway.

Well, he weighs all of 20 oz. (1 lb 4 oz) The diet was manna pro, oats, and forage. I don't think he is stunted or underfed. His body feels good and he gives off an overall feeling of good health and having been quite well cared for.

Either he isn't a NZ at all, or else he's a LOT younger than advertised. What do you guys think?

Looks like a NZ to me, but maybe five weeks old. I am basing that on your hand size vs its size and the youngsters I saw when I was picking mine up.

Blue (that supplied the dilute) and red (that supplied the non extension) are not common colours in any meat breed but NZ so I'd say he is purebred but young and/or from a bloodline that is only hits 8 pounds (which is common for red NZ up here)

If he is a dwarf or small breed or cross then I'd lean towards mini rex based on his fur, body type and bone structure in his face. Hollands, Mini Lops and the like tend to have blockier heads or roman noses and in the kits their fur is more upright or "poofy" and not as smooth.

I think he looks about the same size as my 3-4 week old mutt kits. And those does are only 8 - 8 1/2 lbs.

Heck, my 10 week old velveteen kits are HUGE in comparison, and their mother is only 6 1/2 lbs. adult weight.
