Weight gain as indicator of pregnancy?

So, just out of curiosity, we weighed the does I believe to be bred. They have gained around 1/4 to 1/2 lb, give or take. Does that sound like a normal amount of weight gain? Big Mama, who gained 1/2 lb, feels like she is FULL of kits! I was reading a research article I found on blood volumes during pregnancy and it seems to indicate that standard commercial does gain an avg of around 1lb while pregnant, most of that is gained in the final two weeks. That seems to correllate with what I am seeing in my does....

I've never weighed them to figure pregnancy, but it would make sense.
