Was death due to old age?

I had a 6 year old doe die on me. The only thing that was abnormal was one of four lobes of her liver was hard. I didn't cut it open. The rest of her inside looked normal other than darker color than young rabbits.

I thought she might have had stomach problems the past few days because she did not run to get fed as she usually do.

Six is a good age for a rabbit but not so very old. It sounds to me as though the problem with her liver may have been the cause of death.
