Scarlet pimpernel grows rampant in many parts of the country and just loves gardens. In cutting wild weeds it can often get mixed in. I never gave it a second thought till I ran a search on it for rabbit toxicity. From what I found it takes very little of it to poison a rabbit, in some cases kill it and unfortunately they will eat it, especially if it gets mixed in with something they are enthusiastic about, like clover. I'm being very careful to keep even the tiniest bit out of my rabbit smoragsboard from now on. It may be a good idea to do a search on it, with images, to see if it grows in your area.

Yes, that's the one. It's all over my garden. I never purposely fed it to my rabbits but small amounts of it often found their way into the weeds I gathered for my rabbits. I'm glad I found out how toxic it is to rabbits before I lost one to it.
